Norway gets 95% of their electricity from hydro. Canada could never match that stat and therefore will have a much harder time going to 100% EV/hybrid.
Next, Norway generates the second most export dollars from gas and oil on planet earth. Norway has so much oil, it would be nearly the same as Alberta being an independent country with water access.
Keep in mind Alberta has made $500bn+ in net contributions to Ottawa in the last 20 years, which is equivalent to ~$100,000 per Albertan.
Therefore, if Alberta was like Norway it could easily levy a carbon tax. But it’s not.

I guess Richard and others have never heard of Norway or the success of its oil platforms that operate within an industrial carbon price and car sales that are nearly 100% EV / hybrid.

The crypto industry is now competing with central banks for gold:
Tether purchased +26 tonnes of gold in Q3 2025, surpassing all official central bank buying.
In comparison, Kazakhstan acquired +18 tonnes, Brazil +15 tonnes, and Turkey +7 tonnes.
As a result, Tether's gold buying reflected ~12% of total central bank purchases and ~2% of total global gold demand.
The trend strengthened from Q2, when the company bought +24 tonnes of gold, exceeding Poland and Kazakhstan at +19 and +16 tonnes.
This pushed Tether's total gold reserves to a record 116 tonnes, making it the largest gold holder outside central banks.
Tether is jumping into the worldwide gold rush.

Metro Vancouver alone around 2,500 finished units are standing vacant with no buyers. They don't want to sell at a loss, they can't afford to hold those empty units indefinitely. We will convert vacant condos into affordable housing. We're going to go use the right financing mechanisms, convert those into affordable housing so people can move in and use that." Greed and horrible municipal planning has led to building overpriced shitboxes that no one wants. Now Carney will reward that with taxpayer dollars instead of letting the market solve itself by bringing the prices down. Absurd intervention. I thought he was an economist??

@snowwinddirt @Prominent_Bryan Who said buying overpriced units? It’s strategically smart if the goal is to get rentals into the market quickly. But the condos at the lesser of the cost or current market price. That is free market.
