@nakiwalaaisha Hi Dr. Nakiwala, I’m Steven Ntambi from Makunika EV. We’ve tried reaching you (even passed by your office) to discuss onboarding fresh Mass Comm graduates for our Creative Communication team—hands-on pathway into Uganda’s emobility. Would be honored to connect. 🙏

Uga 220k ($60) a month? Paid in arrears on the 4th? For a waiter/waitress? No meals. No transport. From 0630 TO 1530 if it’s a day shift. At the end of the shift, they are required to write how much they have earned in tips. Their aprons and shirts are checked for money at the end of their shift. My heart aches for these kids- many of who are graduates. The establishment I am referring to is a favourite of mine. I will disclose who they are as soon as I can get a right of reply. These low wages are an insult to Ugandans.

@sntambi Since you installed them, then you can re-label them correctly as Ultra-Fast DC and not as Fast DC because the two charging mechanisms are different.

@sntambi Mukulu, those are simply fast DC chargers. Ultra-fast DC charging also known as HPC, has not yet come to the African EV market.

@anyole_abel @sntambi Yes local brand by Ugandans. They went to same schools as you did. Engineering and design by your relatives led by @sntambi. Thats if you are Ugandan. Proud that Govt chose to use Ugandans for Ugandan solutions. Thanks to @irenebateebe

@hoodssuuna The same way you can’t suggest return of line telephone if mobile phone operators are not reliable

@sntambi We can reduce congestion in a week. 1. Gazette lanes for buses or any vehicles carrying more than 4 people. 2. Private cars should not enter the city, tax those that want to. These will require laws and enforcement, unfortunately I don't see it happening

@hoodssuuna Public transport in developed countries is a social good while in Uganda and most sub-Saharan its a commercial good operating on free market principles…the suggestion you make while good is conflicted on the principles of commercial operation of public transport in our setting
