If we’re going to have data centers, we should at least shut them off between 9am-5pm so that locals can actually go about living their lives without contaminated water or constant 260 dB noise.

“Social media algorithms rely on AI to deliver your feed” No. This is wrong. We’ve had social media feeds long before AI was even invented. They use machine learning in closed-loop cooling server houses. No AI. No data centers. We. Don’t. Need. AI. Or. Data. Centers.

If Linus Torvalds, the creator of modern programming, does not support or use AI, why the hell should I? The day he comes out in support of “vibe coding” is the day I will consider changing my position. But, luckily for us real programmers, that day will never come.

Compilers were created by the same people who created LLMs. Using a compiler like CMake or LLVM makes you a vibe coder (derogatory). Idk how modern software engineers live with themselves knowing they are accelerating the destruction of our planet by using these tools.
