@TheNextAlan @wholemars Why should i lose something i paid for because you paid for fsd? I should get to keep it, because otherwise is theft.

@wholemars I'm guessing that a lot of these comments are from people who aren't subscribed to FSD. They want free FSD. I paid $8000 plus tax for mine. Why should they get it for free?

Tesla must kill and remove the legacy Autopilot stack worldwide. Start with the US & Canada The old stack must be removed and replaced with a basic version of FSD

The unfortunate reality is that if they make Autopilot any better, it will give even less people a reason to subscribe to FSD. That interferes with Elon’s pay package so I doubt it will ever happen. They most likely will do the same thing they did with V3 Superchargers and third party vehicles blocking two spots. Just keep producing have the cars with Autopilot naturally phase out. I really would like that to be the case, but it would have to be an extremelyyyyy watered-down version of FSD. Like even the obstacle avoidance from FSD would be a major upgrade (and a no brainer for safety) but would give so many more people the excuse not to subscribe and just stay with Autopilot. I would love if Autopilot didn’t exist anymore, but I doubt it will happen.

You are NOT a real Software Engineer if you need to rely on the latest tech, e.g. LLMs, to get your job done. No serious company lets their engineers use AI.

"AI will cure cancer within 5 years!" Ahem - clinical trials? "AI will reverse ageing within 7 years!" Cool - clinical trials?! "AI will be able to design and immediately synthesise a new drug for you, based on your DNA." Haha sure - clinical trials??! Guess the tech bros have decided that decade-long clinical trials are no longer important to AI drug discovery or wider pharmacology. But it seems to come from a place of ignorance about basic pharmacology. Do they not read up on basic facts, before confidently commenting on other peoples' fields of research?

@teslascope The FSD Stack: Tesla pushes the FSD logic as a modular component. When your car is ready for the v14 Lite upgrade, it will receive a "push" that updates only the Autopilot component, regardless of whether your OS is at 2026.20.5.1 or 2026.20.6.1.

“AI writes better code than I do” is a strange thing to say when you think about it. AI was trained on a vast corpus of published code. It reflects the average of all that code. So what you’re really saying is: “My code is below average.”

As someone who gets a chance to review the latest versions of Tesla‘s full self driving software for HW3 vehicles, one of the top questions I always receive when a new version comes out is “is phantom braking fixed?” It’s really hard to answer that. It takes a lot of driving before you can provide any worthwhile feedback IMHO. To be honest, it will probably never be fixed. Phantom braking may not seem like a good thing on the surface, however, it’s a necessary evil to protect human lives. The question, in & of itself, is a little crazy to me. How can it ever be fixed? The question should always be: is it better or worse? When it comes to v14 Lite, it depends on the time of day you’re driving, but it’s still there. Is it worse? It’s so hard to tell. I actually feel like it’s more hesitant and careful than it was before. So, yeah, after 1 week of testing, I’m going to claim that it’s worse. But again, I feel like this is a very situational thing, and I also feel that it’s somewhat subjective. Harsh braking is interpreted differently depending on who you’re talking to. Thoughts on this from other testers, I’d love to hear. @BLKMDL3 @j32pmxr @tesla_raj @RoccoSperanza @Kristennetten @niccruzpatane @koby_pierce

In case you’re wondering what FSD V14 Lite does and does not include for HW3 vehicles, I made a list I’ll keep updated. Confirmed V14 Lite features: • Start FSD from park with touchscreen button • Speed profiles on all roads • Destination options (curbside, charger, parking lot, street, driveway) • Automatic parking • Ability to Reverse and shift into Park • Four speed profiles (Sloth, Chill, Standard, Hurry) that now more dramatically change how the car drives • Removal of max speed adjustment (replaced with profiles) • Blue steering wheel replaced with “Self Driving” text • Improved proactive and reactive responses • Improved comfort with smoother steering and better lane centering • Reduced phantom braking (yay!) • Significantly smoother and safer operation Confirmed features V14 Lite does NOT get: • Mad Max speed profile Plausible V14 Lite features: • Automatic pulling over • Handling of emergency vehicles Unconfirmed, unlikely V14 Lite features: • FSD stats app • FSD streak • Unified ASS model

HW3 + v14 owners: check Controls > Autopilot for the Profile setting (Chill/Standard/Assertive). Most beginners do better starting on Standard, then adjusting once they trust the system's judgment.

FSD v14 tip: let it drive without correcting every small move. Phantom braking and odd lane choices often self-correct within seconds. Constant intervention slows its learning curve for your routes.

New to FSD v14? Here's what nobody tells you: after you enable it, your Tesla needs 20-50 miles to calibrate cameras. During this time autopilot is disabled. The trick: drive highways with clear lane markings. Calibration finishes way faster.

FSD v14 Lite is now rolling out to AI3 early-access customers. Based on the feedback, will rollout to more customers over the next few weeks. This build distills the driving behavior from AI4’s v14 series into both the camera and compute config of AI3. It includes destination options and speed profiles on city roads, but more importantly significantly improved safety. We hope you’ll enjoy it, once the build ships wide.
