Antisemitism isn't disliking Jews. Antisemitism is the idea that Jews stand in the way of redemption, of whatever value you hold most dear. The specific redemption changes. In the Islamic version, Jews are the base liars who warped their own revelation and then refused to recognize the truth and divinity of Mohammed's. In Marxism, they are the arch-capitalists. In Nazism, the arch-globalists. And in Augustine's Christianity, they're the rejectors of Christ who delay his return. Antisemitism feels righteous. Denise Gough is an antisemite. She knows nothing at all about the world except that Israel is somehow at the heart of all its problems. And it feels like righteousness.

@RHPeel I don't think that is the only definition. It is much broader than that. But I don't think Mamdani actually holds antisemitic views; in years of public life he's said maybe a handful of 🤔 things - and almost all of them are tied to the Israeli govt

I mean, on this, Tucker is right. There is really very little evidence Mamdani is an anti-semite; he has the support of several prominent Jewish leaders who know him well, he's campaigned/staffed for Jewish pols, and I've personally not heard him utter a single antisemitic word

Tucker’s newsletter today is all about defending Zohran Mamdani (while, like every day, attacking Israel). Tucker will literally promote and defend communists if they agree with him on hating Israel. So stop telling me this is about infighting. He’s not on our side.

Augmenter la flat tax de 6 points rapporterait 1 milliard d'euros.
Est-ce qu'on est prêt à envoyer un signal catastrophique aux investisseurs du monde entier pour gagner 1 milliard d'euros, alors qu'on a un déficit de 170 milliards ? C'est ridicule.
Le seul moyen de réduire le déficit, c'est d'augmenter l'activité. Donc d'attirer tous les créateurs de richesse, pas de les faire fuir !

Moi aussi! J’avais lu que les fluides frigorigènes avaient des PRG ~ 1000 fois plus élevés que le CO2 et que les fuites (notamment sur équipements commerciaux et industriels) étaient fréquentes. Mais visiblement le R290 a un PRG d’environ 3.
Donc avec électricité bas carbone + fluide frigorigène à faible PRG, que reste t il comme argument contre les clim?

J’ai essayé de refaire le calcul à partir d’autres sources (en ignorant notamment les chiffres de l’article qui ont l’air louches) et j’arrive à un autre chiffre que toi.

Donc 182m gallons/an par data center. Donc tous les data center = 50bn gallons/an => 153k acre feet/an. 153k / 15m ~> 1%
Pour me faire l’avocat du diable je pense que la variable la plus contentieuse est la conso quotidienne d’un DC. A mon avis l’IEA prend le plus gros data center qui ne fait que du training de LLM state of the art. Donc le 1% est sûrement une borne max de la conso actuelle. Mais vu que c’est vers cela que l’on tend à 5/10 ans, je me dis que cet ordre de grandeur est pertinent: “quelques pourcents”.
