Days before its Q4 financial disclosures, EV major @OlaElectric’s board approved a combined investment of ₹2,000 Cr into its cell manufacturing arm, Ola Cell Technologies Pvt Ltd (OCT), and vehicle manufacturing arm, Ola Electric Technologies Pvt Ltd (OET).👇 OET will receive ₹1,500 Cr, while the remaining ₹500 Cr will be directed to OCT. Ola Electric’s vehicle-manufacturing arm posted an 8% YoY decline in turnover to ₹4,717.48 Cr in FY25, whereas OCT’s turnover jumped to ₹73 Cr for the year. The transactions are slated for completion by May 15, 2027. Since the chargers funded under FAME policy by govt to OMCs are working so great, our govt has decided to provide them ₹503 crore more for installing 4,874 machines. What an absolute waste of public funds. If govt really wanted to promote good EV Charging Infra they would open this incentive policy for all CPOs without any restrictive conditions on hardware and installation.

Ola Electric Ltd is in talks with several global and domestic automakers to supply lithium-ion cells and battery packs from its Krishnagiri gigafactory The discussions come as Ola accelerates the expansion of its cell manufacturing operations. Installed capacity is expected to rise to 12 GWh by July 2027 and 20 GWh by the end of fiscal 2028 Around one-third of the planned 20 GWh capacity, or roughly 6.5 GWh, is being earmarked for third-party sales to automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Potential customers are currently evaluating Ola's manufacturing operations before making long-term commercial commitments, the sources added. If concluded, the agreements would mark a strategic shift for Ola's battery business, positioning it as a supplier to India's broader electric vehicle and energy storage market. Ola is preparing for demand beyond its in-house vehicle business.
