Sports science journalists differ from scientists in one key aspect. Their job is to generate interest in what they write. Whether it is true or not, is largely irrelevant. What is important is that which will garner the greatest attention. Scientists should be held to a higher calling. We are expected to dig for the truth, whatever the personal cost.
