@RobProvince There's no preservatives in basic ingredients (flour, sugar, rice, beans, split peas, etc), just in the highly-processed, pre-packaged foods, some of which are ingredients in restaurant foods.
Eggs and nonfat milk are clean, too.
Soda is poisonous.

To promote stable, safe and prosperous neighborhoods, property taxes for primary residences, if they're kept at all, should be capped at the purchase price for as long as the owner carries the home as a primary residence.

Regardless of how you package socialism it’s still rights violating. It’s still society staking a claim over and controlling the lives of individual human beings to attain social ends. It’s still an ends justify the means philosophy that institutionalized violence, creates scarcity, robs wealth, and demoralizes everyone.
You can play like it’s benevolent because your intensions feel kind. But it’s really not. You’ll see.. give it a couple years of robbery, and sleight of hand before the golden goose gets tired of being used and leaves. When there’s no one around to parasitize… socialism dies.

@teachthemx3 I was raised in abject destitution, and what it taught me is the need for independence. I also learned how to fix things and make do.
That's what we're missing, the connection between effort/deferral/abstinence and independence.
We need a new frontier.

We criticize the work ethic of young people while ignoring the environment we've created for them. If the system rewards the easier path, why would students push themselves or even show up to class?

@teachthemx3 Our district has credit recovery. Students can miss most of the year and then go to Saturday School for 3 days...all good! They sit at tables in cafeteria and SLEEP for 4 hours. If they only do one, that is fine. I don't think anyone even questions it.
