@kiwimusiclover They're better off using those aircraft to lose money flying routes in NZ than adding extra capacity back into some of routes in Australia that would put downward pressure on fares.

Growth in domestic air travel in Australia has been just as impressive, with passenger numbers rising from 2m in 1955 to 14m by 1985 and now sitting at over 60m. There have been bumps along the way (eg the 1989 pilots' strike and Ansett's collapse), but Covid hit especially hard.

@petergraczer There is nothing wrong with the concept, but GWRC spending $5m on this when the whole Snapper system gets scrapped in a little over 12 months is just crazy. GWRC had to raise fares due to a $3m shortfall in revenue.

@stevebiddle ive never used snapper but have recently started catching buses so have used my phone. last few days the terminals started failing, drivers had no idea how to handle it. absolute mess.

Snapper debit and credit card support is broken on Metlink buses. Free rides on trains, and now buses too.. What a complete waste of $5m by GWRC on a vanity project.
