I often say that we excel at discovering evidence which confirms our beliefs, but it is difficult in the extreme to consider evidence which disconfirms them. You know already too many scientists have forgotten how to prove themselves wrong. Don't make the same mistake. If you are right, the worst is that you will have learned something. If you are wrong, then again you will have learned something. (Making jokes on these topics is always allowed, of course.) Consider we all know well our managerial rulers have been serially and hilariously incompetent at everything they have touched, so how could they maintain a secret as deep and pervasive as this is supposed to be? How could they have been competent to the max here alone? No defections? No hard leaks? As our friend below says, the whole thing can sound like UFO discourse. Don't first believe without putting as much effort into disbelieving. In any case, we already have evidence galore that our old rulers have to go.

Everyone is sensitive to some version of the "worst case scenario" in Iran: Iraq but worse. What is the "best case scenario" that you can imagine if the US participates and everything goes right? It is worth thinking at both extremes.
