@MartinSLewis Totally agree. No additional staff, overhead or cost of providing the service. The 1.9% may have been appropriate at a cap of £1200 but this gives 4 x their previous pound notes profit purely through more turnover!

A bit of energy maths. Ofgem designs the price cap set to limit "the level of profits an energy supplier can make to 1.9%" So worth noting if you double the price cap. While the margin stays the same. The total profits can double.
