Theory: The Steelers don't want Aaron Rodgers back. But they want Rodgers to break up them. We've all been there before. UFA tender. Now this Dulac story which could piss Rodgers off. Hey, they tried the same stunt with Big Ben. And he called their bluff. I'm hoping I'm right.

@stevenpsherry @Avgeek_Jan @Delta I mean the placement of the cart wouldn’t work because there’s seats there on a 737, but I promise you on a 2-3-2 that’s where the bulkhead is

🔴 @Delta is cutting in-flight service on 450 daily flights starting May 19, and frequent flyers are NOT happy about it. From that date, any flight under 350 miles in economy will get zero service. Nothing. Not even water. That covers a lot of routes people fly every single week for work. The old system had an express service on flights of 251 to 499 miles, which was coffee, tea, or water. That is now gone entirely for shorter hops. Now, to be fair, there is a flip side. Around 600 daily flights in the 350 to 499 mile range are actually getting upgraded from express to full beverage service. So more people overall will get a proper drink cart. First class keeps full service across the board regardless of distance. #Delta #DeltaAirLines #Aviation

@the_transit_guy I want high speed rail but I’m just pointing out that SoCal to Bay Area typically has relatively low fares and a lot of competition so not a great example

While domestic airlines gouge passengers, in Spain you can go 400 miles (the distance between SF/LA, Chicago/Minneapolis, or DC/Charlotte) in 3 hours for just $73. We’ll do anything but provide rail service to this country.

So Lina Khan blocked the merger with Jet Blue because she said the loss of an airline would hurt consumers. The end result: not only the loss of an airline but mass unemployment. A socialism story.

@jsmithers_1990 @MarkMaddenX And you think you get truth with him? He salivates all over the penguins and shit all over the Steelers every chance he gets. One wouldn’t be blamed for mistaking him for a ravens fan sometimes

@MarkMaddenX You’re a grump and it’s just sad that such an incredible sports town has such a pessimistic sports commentator. What I see in your work is rage bait. Ofc you resort to yelling at people and telling them to go fuck themselves for critique that isn’t even offensive lol

GFY. "Be a better person." You have zero idea what kind of person I am. I do more for the community is a year than you'll do in your life. To repeat, GFY. "Deranged pessimism." Drama much? Get your knickers out of a twist, ass.
spsherry@stevenpsherry

@MarkMaddenX Just be a better person. Spread joy not clickbait garbage. Obviously critiques and hard questions are great, but your deranged pessimism permeates what is inherently an optimistic city

@the_transit_guy @pat_hedger Disagree! His take is wrong. There was a perfectly viable merger to be had and their board rejected it in favor of a far less likely bid. Spirits own making.

@pat_hedger I don't disagree, I guess i'm just curious as to how one company that you admit is on "life support" would've saved one from dying?

Just now on CNBC: Spirit planning to cease operations imminently. Congratulations to the antitrust hawks and neo-Brandeisians. Instead of a stronger competitor in a combined Spirit-JetBlue, Spirit will die and JetBlue is on life support. Central planning at its finest.

omg how many times do we have to clap back. Their board REJECTED a bid from Frontier which likely would’ve passed regulatory muster. Certainly a much better chance than B6. This was entirely Spirit’s doing as their board chose the JetBlue offer. Ignoring anti trust or bailing out Spirit would’ve been akin to corporate welfare and is ANTI free market.

@CattleCapital @BoringBiz_ Allowing this merger would’ve been a form of socialism. They had the opportunity to accept a merger with Frontier which would’ve cleared regulatory hurdles and they chose not to. Full fault lies with Spirit and their poor performance and bad decision making

Spirit airlines is now planning to shut down after a failed rescue for the company As reminder, JetBlue offered to buy the company for almost $4B a few years ago The DoJ blocked the M&A deal, claiming that it would take out the low cost airline operator from the market and hurt consumers Incredible work from our own regulators. They destroyed value for shareholders, and now the low cost operator will be leaving the market anyway

WRONG. Spirit had an offer from Frontier that would’ve likely cleared. THEIR board turned down that offer, which had a much greater chance of success. This is entirely Spirit Board’s fault. Company’s failing because of their actions is not automatically bad or the governments fault. Are you saying we need to break anti trust precedent just to save failing companies?? Ridiculous
