To clarify, the real problem in the school prayer case is not that the coach wanted to pray. It wasn't even that he was doing it publicly and had people on the team join in (though that is problematic too.) The real problem is he retaliated against players who didn't join him.

I really wish people would stop drastically using the scenarios of rape or incest as the sole premise for an abortion. A woman doesn’t have to be in a traumatic situation for it to be reason enough. In fact there is zero explanation that needs to be given.

I came to the NYT to create The Daily in 2017. I'm telling you, we had a time. Didn't we? When I pitched the idea for a daily podcast -- a podcast! 5 days a week! Covering the news! -- most thought it harebrained. But The Times didn’t. I’m grateful.

TIL that converting one’s CDC vaccination card into a French Health Pass in Paris (which is required to basically do anything like ride a train or eat at a restaurant) is a bureaucratic disaster. The alternative is to pay 25€ and get swabbed every 3 days for a QR code.

lauren is an inspiration. i’ve seen her work on this idea for a while now and it’s incredible to see it come to life. i think she’s more qualified than anyone on earth to carry this through and actually help people. which is all we can all hope for.
