Newcastle’s season is over and all that is left is to search through the wreckage for survivors. The manager will take the blame but I hope he survives. @molloy1916 @Toibin1 certainly did himself no harm recently. His early support for those most affected by the Irish government's fuel greed, was a a bold statement that his Party are for the people. From what I could see, this was very welcome.

Another explanation for the slight drop in support for SF might be that republicans who were polled by LucidTalk stopped taking part when they saw the extremely prejudicial question about Gerry Adams and the IRA posed by the BelTel as part of its campaign to demonise Adams.

You have a squad with several players who have one eye on the exit door. You don’t point the figure at them. Look at their performances. Was left last summer without a sporting director and a CEO. lost isak on deadline day - the team’s top goalscorer and most important player - and missed out on Trafford, Ekitike, Pedro and Sesko as they went elsewhere for money and to club’s with more aura in London and Manchester. Yeah he’s made mistakes, but if you look at everything he has achieved I’d back him over anyone else to lead the rebuild as a manager with a proper recruitment structure in place #nufc
