@humansareindef1 @heynavtoor I went through there GitHub briefly and it said 32gb.

I went on their GitHub repo. They recommended a computer with 32 GB of DDR fourRAM. As well as a GPU with at least 8 GB of the RAM. It’s cool that you can store stuff off-line, but it’s nothing new you could always download kiwix and some off-line maps. What they did that was cool was tie a language model to it so that you could query all of that information through a rack search. I’m not positive, but it’s a project that I’m working on exactly what you said, taking a small model that can run on a raspberry pie a 1.2 billion parameter model to be precise, and using it for essentially the exact same project. And then of course, open sourcing it.

The government no longer needs a warrant to surveil you. Under current law, federal agencies including the NSA legally purchase Americans' location data, web browsing history, and personal associations from commercial data brokers. The Fourth Amendment is bypassed entirely through the Third Party Doctrine, which holds that you lose your expectation of privacy when you share information with a third party. Every app on your phone is a third party. What used to require thousands of analysts working for years now happens automatically across an entire population. AI systems ingest millions of legally "public" data points and synthesize them into comprehensive behavioral profiles. Where you sleep, who you talk to, what you read, what you search, etc. The downstream effects of unchecked surveillance are well documented. Mass monitoring chills anonymous speech, compromises journalists' sources, and enables targeting of political dissidents and vulnerable communities. The NSA ran warrantless wiretapping programs on Americans. The FBI surveilled advocacy groups. Israel and Spain deployed Pegasus against their own activists and elected officials. The pattern repeats across the UK, India, Hungary, Canada, Argentina. Democracies that build mass surveillance infrastructure eventually use it domestically. The capability, once operational, does not get rolled back. Congress has the ability to close the data broker loophole and extend Fourth Amendment protections to match the reality AI has created. Until it does, the constitutional prohibition against general warrants exists only in theory, while the government purchases its way around it at industrial scale.
