Optimum is fixing one of Ethereum’s hidden problems. Their mump2p tech cuts block propagation variance by ~7x. That means: >faster, more reliable block delivery >less missed value >higher validator rewards Real performance upgrade. Ethereum needs this. What do you think?

What if Web3’s biggest bottleneck isn’t the blockchain… but the network underneath it? Most of today’s internet infrastructure was built for centralized systems not decentralized environments. That’s why Optimum’s RLNC approach matters. 1:- Traditional networks send exact packets. If packets are lost, they must be retransmitted creating latency, congestion, and bandwidth waste 2:- RLNC changes the model completely. Instead of fixed packets, it sends encoded data combinations. 3:- This means packet loss no longer breaks performance. Less retransmission and Lower latency led to Higher efficiency 4:- Traditional networking struggles under congestion and unstable conditions. RLNC is designed for dynamic decentralized environments making networks far more resilient and scalable. As Web3 scales, infrastructure must evolve too. 5:- Optimum isn’t just improving networking speed it’s redesigning how decentralized systems move data at the foundational layer. That’s the kind of infrastructure shift Web3 will eventually depend on.@blockchainjeff @get_optimum

Validators already know exactly what a missed slot costs them. Everstake's COO can calculate it to the ETH. That's an unusual property for a marketplace to have before it even launches. @get_optimum's Latency Marketplace works precisely because the buyer side has a concrete willingness to pay derived from a real P&L line. Flexnode operators supply bandwidth and location. Validators pay for equations delivered faster. No speculative demand, no token appreciation thesis required. The value transfer is direct: faster equations mean fewer missed slots and better MEV capture, and that delta is already quantified in the March 2026 APR research paper. The supply side is structurally interesting for a different reason. RLNC's hardware requirements are genuinely low. No ASICs, no GPUs. Any device with stable internet and decent bandwidth can contribute coded equations to the mesh. The long-term product vision is a browser extension or wallet integration. That's a distribution surface no validator infrastructure project has had access to before, and it creates a potential Flexnode operator base that scales well beyond institutional node runners. The design problem that can't be evaluated from the outside: pricing equilibrium. If the marketplace clears at rates that make sense for data centers but not for home users, the geographic decentralization story weakens. If it clears too low, the network doesn't attract enough operators to matter. Getting that balance right before mainnet is the hardest unsexy problem in the entire architecture.

I used to think scaling discussions were pretty simple. More TPS = problem solved. 🧵 Then I started reading more infrastructure stuff and realized I was looking at only one side of it. A blockchain can process transactions fast and still run into issues underneath. @7wealthh

gMum💥 Back then, whenever a project said we’re decentralized, it usually meant one thing: the network would be slower. @get_optimum flipped that idea completely. Instead of more nodes creating congestion and delays, mump2p + RLNC turn every new node into an advantage for the network itself. In simple terms: An independent node operator running from home in Asia or Africa can achieve propagation speeds close to large enterprise operators with expensive infrastructure in Europe or North America. And that’s a massive shift. Because traditional networks mostly depend on: - Server location - Hardware strength - Proximity to data centers But here? Every node actively helps distribute, recode, and reconstruct data more efficiently. So the result becomes: - Global distribution turns into an advantage - More nodes actually improve speed - Decentralization strengthens performance instead of hurting it That’s why Optimum feels different from typical networking projects. They’re not just optimizing propagation. They’re redefining how propagation works. @blockchainjeff @tgogayi @cryptooflashh

Everyone thinks decentralized = slow. We're proving them wrong. Powered by Random Linear Network Coding, Optimum's mump2p improves network decentralization. When every node has access to low latency data propagation, it matters much less where that node is located or what hardware it runs on. By simply running mump2p, an independent node operator in Asia or South America can close the performance gap with enterprise operators in Western Europe or North America. Decentralization innately supports network resilience, censorship resistance, and attack resistance. When a network communicates using RLNC that 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 too. Because of RLNC’s fundamental properties: - Recoding - Early forwarding - Decoding with any combination of coded shards it thrives in massive globally distributed networks, whereas other propagation methods slow down. Every new node adds more coded shards to the network, so decoding gets faster. More nodes in more diverse regions shortens the hops between them, so latency drops. This is how Optimum lets chains decentralize to scale.

The infrastructure layer is where the real masterpiece gets painted. At first glance, all you see is the final image. But behind every clean result is a lot of work happening quietly in the background. That is exactly how crypto infrastructure works. Applications get the attention. Infrastructure does the heavy lifting. The artist in this piece represents builders. The mural represents scalable execution. And the shape being painted symbolizes the invisible network that makes everything possible. This is what @get_optimum is building. A sidecar client that helps Ethereum nodes receive block data more efficiently. No changes to consensus. No changes to execution. Just a smarter way to move data. Why this matters: → Lower bandwidth costs → Faster block propagation → Reduced duplicate traffic → Better performance for validators → More efficient infrastructure overall Most nodes receive the same block data from multiple peers. That redundancy adds cost and latency. Optimum reduces the noise so validators get what they need with less overhead. The result: A cleaner pipeline. A smoother system. And infrastructure that scales more efficiently. Sometimes the most important innovations are the ones users never see. Just like the artist painting on the wall, infrastructure teams are quietly creating the foundation that everything else depends on. @CryptoSundayz @cryptooflashh @aqccapital

Most people in crypto are obsessed with TPS numbers But after researching @get_optimum I realized something: blockchains don’t just struggle because of computation They struggle because nodes can’t communicate efficiently at scale And that’s the exact problem Optimum is trying to solve. ─────────────── What makes this project interesting is the team behind it Optimum was co-founded by: - Muriel Médard - Kishori Konwar - Kent Lin Muriel Médard is actually an MIT professor and one of the key researchers behind RLNC (Random Linear Network Coding) And the crazy part? RLNC wasn’t originally built for crypto. It came from years of research in: - satellite communication - distributed systems - wireless networking Now they’re bringing that technology into Web3 infrastructure. ─────────────── Instead of building another blockchain Optimum is trying to become the communication layer underneath decentralized systems Their vision is simple: - faster data propagation - lower bandwidth waste - better validator synchronization Basically: making decentralized networks communicate smarter And honestly this feels like one of those infrastructure projects most people ignore early until the entire ecosystem starts needing it Do you think communication infrastructure could become the next major layer of Web3? @cryptooflashh @TheBl0ckBoy @aqccapital @shariaronchain @CryptoSundayz

People usually focus on how coded networking splits data. But honestly, the more interesting part is what happens after fragmentation. Reconstruction. Because a decentralized network doesn’t actually need every single fragment back to recover the original dataset. That’s the beauty of coded distribution. Data gets encoded into multiple pieces and spread across different nodes + routes. Every node doesn’t need identical copies. The network only needs enough useful fragments to rebuild the original information. Which means: packet loss becomes less painful, retransmissions decrease, and synchronization becomes much more efficient. Traditional networking often wastes bandwidth repeating the same data again and again. Coded networking changes that logic. Instead of prioritizing duplication, it prioritizes recoverability. That’s a huge difference for scalability. Optimum is exploring this approach to improve how large datasets propagate across decentralized systems. Less redundant traffic. Better coordination. More resilient recovery. In distributed infrastructure, recovery speed matters just as much as delivery speed. @get_optimum @blockchainjeff

Decentralization is usually seen as a trade-off for speed Optimum flips that logic 👀 With mump2p powered by RLNC, data is split into coded shards that can move, reroute and reconstruct through any node no fixed path required. That means no geographic bottlenecks, no dependency on specific relays and no single point slowing everything down. As the network grows, it doesn’t just become more decentralized but it becomes more efficient. More nodes create more coding paths, improving redundancy and reducing effective latency. Decentralization stops being a compromise and becomes a performance layer. That’s the direction @get_optimum is pushing: global networks that scale through openness, not against it Gmum @get_optimum

Optimum does not require a blockchain to completely rebuild its system. They work on top of the existing infrastructure. That means: Ethereum can remain Ethereum; validators continue working as usual; @get_optimum simply speeds up data transmission. Because of this, different networks can integrate Optimum easily. Decentralization was supposed to slow things down. Someone forgot to tell Optimum. Most blockchains slow down as they grow. More nodes, more latency. That's been the accepted tradeoff for years. Optimum flips this entirely. Their mump2p layer is built on RLNC (Random Linear Network Coding), a patented technology born from 15 years of MIT research. And the results are real: → ~150ms block propagation on Ethereum's Hoodi testnet → 5-6x faster than Gossipsub, confirmed by Everstake → More nodes = more coded shards = faster decoding That last point is the paradigm shift. Instead of decentralization hurting performance, it starts improving it: → Data propagation gets faster → Network efficiency goes up → Global coordination becomes easier → Resilience improves at scale ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ A small node operator running mump2p in Asia or South America can now close the performance gap with enterprise setups in Western Europe or North America. No expensive hardware. No centralized shortcuts. Just better architecture. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Most infrastructure scales by adding centralization or stronger hardware. Optimum scales by making global participation itself the advantage. That's a very different way to build a network. @get_optimum
