Sikh Americans deeply cherish the economic, religious, and political freedoms that this country extends to all. The founding of the Khalsa in April 1699 is a reminder of the duty to stand for liberty, serve others, and keep working together to build a more perfect Union. This is deeply disturbing. A Sikh woman targeted in her own home and subjected to horrific violence. Anti-Sikh hate is real and rising, and too often it goes unrecognised. My thoughts are with the victim. We must stand united against all forms of hate and violence.

Pretty good interview and thorough article with proper background and balance. I would say the part about Khalistani violence is dated – it's been decades of peaceful advocacy. That was mostly in the 80s in response to the state sanctioned attacks on Sikhs and Sikh genocide.
