MISSING PERSON PLEASE SHARE Urgent police appeal launched for missing 23-year-old student Henry Shields not seen for a week Lancashire Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Henry Shields, 23, from Lancaster. The white male with light brown curly hair and standing 5ft 10ins tall was last seen on Dale Street between 11pm on Sunday 10 May and 1am on Monday 11 May. He was wearing a black T-shirt and may have been wearing a beige or brown jacket at the time. Henry was reported missing on Monday 18 May and has not been in contact with family or friends since he was last seen. Police are now urging anyone who has seen Henry or has information about his whereabouts to come forward immediately. Anyone with information should call 999 if they see him, or 101 quoting log 1160 of 18 May.

@suzanne_anna @GriftReport My counsellor told me it’s very unlikely as they prefer for babies to be kept with mom. I’ve been told i will likely only get a child under 1 if I adopt siblings too. I was also told that CS are funny if potential adopters have ever suffered with depression throughout their life

Teacher accused of sexually abusing and murdering baby boy he was adopting threatens to “fight till the day I die” when confronted by police Jamie Varley, 37, a former textiles teacher, and his partner John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, had 13-month-old Preston Davey placed with them for adoption in April 2023. Preston died on 27 July 2023 after being rushed to hospital in cardiac arrest. A post-mortem found more than 40 separate injuries, including serious internal damage consistent with sexual assault and signs of smothering. In a police interview played in court, when an officer told Varley the pathologist concluded Preston had been sexually abused and smothered, he pointed at her and said: “You make that suggestion, and I’ll fight you till the day I die.” Varley denies murder, sexual assault and multiple counts of child cruelty. McGowan-Fazakerley denies causing or allowing the death and child cruelty. The trial continues at Preston Crown Court. Thoughts?

@GriftReport I had a counselling session yesterday for infertility. My partner and I plan to adopt. Guess what the counsellor said? It’s extremely unlikely I will be able to adopt a new born / baby under 1. I’m now reading a post about the authorities allowing a 13 month old to be raped

Not all misbehaviour is a choice. The importance of recognising behaviour problems might be an outward manifestation of an attachment strategy due to toxic stress. We try to punish this behaviour into a better way of being because it does not meet social expectations.
