I feel bad dunking on them so much but it's genuinely absurd how bad the new Claude Code desktop app is. You can feel the vibe code leaking everywhere.
Every "feature" is barely integrated and full of edge cases that weren't considered. Every menu feels barren, stuffed in last second for some random toggle. Every hotkey breaks as soon as you try to do anything else.
I've lost track of how many bugs I've encountered. I found at least 40 in under an hour. And it's all truly absurd arcane shit. Stuff like voice mode typing in all input boxes instead of just the one you have focused.
Any one of these issues would have been enough for me to do a massive post-mortem and likely fire someone. A $400b company shipping this is absurd.
I feel like I'm going mad. How does anyone seriously use this?? It is broken on fundamental levels that are hard to comprehend.
How are we supposed to trust the code these models produce if Anthropic's official showcases are absolute slop?
Dedicated video on this coming tomorrow. Just needed to get this off my chest.

HOW DO THEY KEEP SHIPPING SO FAST
at this point they should just build every app that exists

Today we're launching a rebuilt version of Claude Code on desktop. The app has been redesigned for the ground up to make it easier than ever to parallelize work with Claude. I haven't opened an IDE or terminal in weeks. Excited for you all to give it a shot!

@warpkc @warpdotdev Long sessions with Claude on Windows 11.
Just type to Claude for a while and you’ll experience massive slowdowns. And I’m not exaggerating, it was like playing a video game at 5 fps.

@swarmctrl @warpdotdev Would love to hear more about what kind of performance issues you were seeing. Were you also seeing high memory usage? Were you using the Warp agent, other agent CLI (like Claude Code), or no agents?
We have recently pushed quite a few performance fixes.

@elonmusk @techdevnotes Hopefully this is Grok much cheaper than Perplexity Computer

@techdevnotes Private beta release is out to some users. Broader beta release in 3 days.

@RobHoffman_ I get it, just the word “training” threw me off
How would you feed it to the AI exactly?
English

@swarmctrl The dental office provides the info and you feed it to the AI
English

here’s a concrete example of how to make money with this new Claude drop
build and sell AI agents for dentists
a dentist’s office has the same 6 problems every single month:
1. patients not booking
2. no one answering calls at night
3. unpaid bills piling up
4. bad reviews (or no good reviews)
5. chasing people who haven’t been back in a year
6. new patient forms done manually
here’s what your agent will do to solve these problems:
1. books appointments. patient fills out a form, it checks the calendar, sends the confirmation, reminds them 2 days before and the morning of. no receptionist needed.
2. answers every question at 3am. “do you take delta dental?” “how much is a crown?” it’s trained on the dental office’s info and answers instantly.
3. chases unpaid bills. sends polite follow ups, escalates if ignored. no awkward phone calls.
4. collects google reviews automatically (my favorite part). after every appointment it texts the patient. happy ones are asked to leave a Google review. unhappy ones get flagged privately before they post anything.
5. handles new patient intake. sends forms before the appointment, collects insurance info, follows up if anything is missing.
6. reactivates old patients. “hi sarah, it’s been 8 months since your last cleaning, want to book?” sent automatically to every single lapsed patient on the list.
just build one AI agent that handles all of that and charge dental offices a $1,500 set up fee and $500 per month to maintain it.
20 clients = $10k per month
the same playbook works for gyms, law firms, real estate agents, accountants.
never has it been so easy to make money online

@MarcusAGI @RobHoffman_ Exactly, but that isn’t training though that’s just prompting
English

@swarmctrl @RobHoffman_ You can use skills or add the context in the system prompt

They are flexing so hard right now with their compute efficiency

I realize yesterday’s Codex reset came in a bit at an unfortunate time given the last one was almost perfectly a week ago. To really celebrate the 3M I’ll reset again tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback!
