Still early days, but only 31% out of 48 critics so far are siding with the live-action (below #SnowWhite’s current 39%, #MaleficentMistressOfEvil’s current 40% & #Dumbo’s 46%, and a far cry below the original animation’s current 95%), calling it a ugly lucking, lifeless adaptation with no artistic or aesthetic reason to exist, other than to diminish what the original animation had in its favor. SUPERGIRL domestic walk-ups this Friday have been truly horrible, $10.5M-$11.5M this Friday (+$7.8M in previews). The weak reception from critics and audiences is a key factor in killing this movie after a pretty strong start in pre-sales. Official WB figure tomorrow morning.
