An innovation in this year’s @SwanRailway diesel gala was an improvement to the “loco departures” at Swanage. This year we’ve added a full working list in case the loco you want is further up the line 👍 (ideal when allocations change and the printed versions out of date!)
English

@trainfanmatt On the whole - the question is whether it’s a heritage railway or a tourist attraction. Both bring different expectations - with disruption you really need to get info to people quickly, this helps.
Alas these days the railways have to operate as tourist attractions to survive.
English

@swlines Thanks Tom. Not knocking what you've done, it's just not for me.
I think it's prompted some good discussion about it and it certainly hasn't detracted from a fantastic day. I'm also sure I'll be appreciative of the automatic data entries when I get to my Railmiles later 🤣
English

@reacttoyeallows @frahnetic @wonky_veg @thetrainline If your train is cancelled and you choose to abandon travel, you should refund the ticket with who you purchased from.
If you're *delayed*, then you claim Delay Repay from the operator.
English

@frahnetic @wonky_veg @thetrainline You can’t if booked via the train line. The bigger question is why use it at all
English

@GordonDudman @trainfanmatt @chriscollins462 @TrainSplit @firstclassemil No, the association is specifically for this journey and is just wrong.
English

@swlines @trainfanmatt @chriscollins462 @TrainSplit @firstclassemil Someone missed an “association” ?
English

@GordonDudman @trainfanmatt @chriscollins462 @TrainSplit @firstclassemil In a correction to my earlier comment, it’s because the train in the timetable data is marked to split at Milton Keynes, so it continues to the next one to Glasgow.
RTT has corrected it to next train internally.
English

@trainfanmatt @chriscollins462 @TrainSplit @firstclassemil It’s where there are two STP overlays as opposed to one overlay and a new STP schedule.
English

@ScotRail @RealtimeTrains @RailMiles @ScotRail this is still broken, 2 weeks later. I tried emailing the nomad service desk per the wifi page but my email was refused.
Really poor.
English

@ScotRail @RealtimeTrains @RailMiles HA16 is the coaching stock set, but 40616 is the vehicle I’m in. It’s a nomad problem anyway as I can ping other IPs in that block, it’s (once again, as it always is) an incorrect site filter block.
This really needs fixing more permanently 🙃
English

@ScotRail I am on 1B30 (HA16) and for some reason your wifi is blocking both @RealtimeTrains and @RailMiles, again. :(
English

@ianvisits @ofmilesfromhome to be fair, retailers have been sending out emails about it since 1st March; we sent all of our customers from the last year emails about it shortly after the (essentially) embargo lifted on Sunday. there's quite a thorough comms campaign about it.
English

@ofmilesfromhome Everyone (really?) is talking about it because I wrote about it.
English

In a bid to clamp down on ticket fraud that costs the railways millions each year, the government has quietly changed the rules on claiming refunds for unused train tickets.

English

@gceccles @GordonDudman @ScotRail Better to get the true experience of how the railway treats issues, rather than just sending an email to the appropriate person (which I've done before.)
This issue has been going on for years.
English

@GordonDudman @swlines @ScotRail @RealtimeTrains @RailMiles Known as a reverse “do you know who I am?”
English

I'm almost amused that @RoyalMail have failed to deliver a parcel to an address stating it was inaccessible.
The address is open 24/7.
English

What a disasterclass in comms.
@OctopusEnergy: (in summary) we're going to cap to 6 hours charge per night (and not tell you when in email)
Also Octopus, apparently, when controlling a charger: we're going to throttle the charge rate
Great way to ruin your reputation.
English

@philatrail @RealtimeTrains there's probably something in the economics of a small enthusiast website...

@dcifoyle @McWhirterAlex @SteveWhiteRail @Se_Railway @_Railcards @RealtimeTrains In terms of tickets, yes - that's the intention although it hasn't yet washed its face.
In terms of running RTT, we do have a small number of consultancy & data agreements with rail but majority of revenue from advertising, B2C sales (RailMiles, shop), etc.
English

@swlines @McWhirterAlex @SteveWhiteRail @Se_Railway @_Railcards @RealtimeTrains If I'm correct Tom, @RealtimeTrains invests profit from ticket sales in operation & enhancement of its eponymous services, which are independent of, & receive no funding from, railway & government? A practical way for users to support this useful site... realtimetickets.co.uk/system/about/

Just discovered the Weekender Return on @Se_Railway £32 with a @_Railcards from Ashford to London and back in a weekend. And you can travel on High Speed Javelin trains for this price, so journey time is a mere 38 mins! What's not to like? Pick up this fare at @RealtimeTrains

English

@TrainLifeGB @liamjw745 They all loaded on at precisely the same time, 3rd October 2025 at 18:23:52 :)
English

@swlines @liamjw745 Took a bit longer to load than the others then.
English

@liamjw745 Just got added then. Wasn't there earlier.
