@EndWokeness I woke up this morning and thought to myself, "You know what sort of representation we're lacking on the runways? Oh, of course! The trans, black, and disabled type."

@Wesley_Todd_ I've noticed that much modern-day Christian music can quickly turn into a romantic song by replacing just a few lyrics.

Evangelicals really had dudes singing “there’s nowhere I’d rather be when you’re singing over me” to Jesus Then acted shocked when an entire generation of men checked out of church.

Producer Mark Gordon revealed a title change for Netflix's adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: "It’s called Narnia. We’re not calling it Chronicles, but yes, it’s based on the books, the Chronicles of Narnia." Will this be the tamest of all the changes Greta Gerwig will make to this classic?

@stanfordNYC I believe this is more connected to the park design than the placement. The strip lacks any large swath of grass, and seems to focused on fancy design

Boston already has this and it basically sucks. It sits cold and empty for a whole half of the year, and even in fair weather is among the worst-utilized land in downtown. A swathe of prime land not used for living, working, commerce, transportation or infrastructure.

What if Park Avenue felt more like a park? New renderings showcase options to transform E 46 St to E 57 St with wider medians, greenery, seating, pedestrian enhancements, and more. Get involved and help shape the future at a public workshop. ⬇️

Hi Michelle, although I know I’m an imperfect and sinful person, I also earnestly hope the work we’re doing at rainmaker helps to serve God and his creation. In Genesis, even before the fall, God instructs Adam to work and tend to the garden. If making rain can help tend to God’s creation, preventing droughts that destroy ecosystems and crops, maybe it’s another tool that serves His interests. Happy to talk more anytime

"History PhD here--the number of World Wars is actually a *very* controversial topic in academia. Some say there have been two (traditional view), while others say up to sixty-four. Scholars disagree, and that's okay! What's NOT ok are these RACIST attacks on Rep Omar!"

@gregoryblotnick I've never read a Stephen King novel, and don't particularly care to. But his "On Writing" is one of the best writing manuals I've ever read

4 random bio recs: 1. Roberts' Napoleon bio - required reading for any young philosopher-king with dreams of marching a 600,000-man Grande Armée across the Niemen River 2. River of Doubt - Morris' "Rise of Roosevelt" is required bio reading, but River of Doubt is an easy read - sort of a semi-bio, just an absolutely insane story, well-written. TR is prob #1 pick for American role model 3. Stephen King - On Writing. Never read any of his books - not required. Great writer, great book, half memoir, half writing masterclass. 4. Prideaux - Nietzsche bio. Is this a GOAT bio, no, but its a grade-A bio on a lunatic of a human. Read this before u read anything he wrote - adds valuable context

reason #99 to read more bios I can't think of a single positive role model today where I'd tell a young guy: "be like him" the military goggins/jocko type works. but goggins would tell u "dont be me bro, I'm fucked up" this series = strong blend of history mixed w/ biographies

Today we announce Thrive Eternal, a permanent capital holding company that will be concentrated in a small number of assets that we can own and steward over many decades. Across Thrive Capital and Thrive Holdings, we are building and investing through a moment of exponential change; backing emerging technologies, the infrastructure that powers them, and the businesses they can transform. Increasingly, we see a fourth category. These are assets with qualities that cannot be replicated by technology. Iconic franchises and cultural institutions rooted in tradition, identity, and shared experience. In a world shaped by abundant intelligence where creation scales and distribution fragments, we believe they will matter even more. Thrive Eternal is built on the belief that the most enduring of these assets share common characteristics: they benefit from long-term stewardship, they compound through cultural resonance, and they are enhanced by technology rather than displaced by it. Our work at Thrive has always been informed and inspired by a deep appreciation for product, brand, and the ways in which consumers form lasting relationships with the things they love. We have been building towards this for a long time. Our first partnership is expected to be with the San Francisco Giants - an institution built on more than a century of shared identity and community, and among the most iconic sports franchises in America. We have reached an agreement, subject to league approval, to acquire an ownership stake. We feel privileged by the opportunity to be long-term partners to the Giants.
