I find it amazing that more than 10 years after Metro construction started in Mumbai, the line connecting Bandra West and BKC is non existent. 10 years, all the pillars on both sides seem complete but they're still not joined. Traffic gets totally jammed. But hey use Coastal, stop cribbing right?

For the men whining in the comments, I’d rather see Bus Rapid Transit and cycle lanes on our streets than kilometers of illegal, unpaid parking.

FYI, “Mumbai baddies” roaming freely at night owe a lot to Koli women, who’ve been lining up at Sassoon fishing harbour since 4am for generations. Women have occupied the streets here since the late 1900s. When women take up space, they watch for each other & the city behaves.

That is Koliwada not anything random, that fishing village has been there on these isles of Mumbai since 600 BCE. The Koli community are the indigenous, original Mumbaikars. Speak of upgrading or improving infrastructure if you must, but NEVER-EVER call for it to be flattened.
