@sentdefender Classic politician move. Create a problem, be the sole cause for a huge price spike because you damaged the supply chain, scream greed and price gouging, then never take responsibility for anything you do.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump highlighted the effect that the conflict in the Middle East has on fertilizer prices, as significant portion of the world’s fertilizer supply passes through the Strait of Hormuz.

If Iran is tolling the Strait and taking on Chinese weapons, the job is not done and must be finished. The price might be high now—but it will only be higher later.

@EWErickson Seems so bizarre to me that Trump is trying so desperately to prop him up. Why are we so supportive and fawning over strongmen now? Why openly support leaders who don’t care for democratic processes? Somehow we’ve gotten really off track.

@JonahDispatch I’ve always found it funny that you’re a RINO if you disagree with one single thing Trump does. They screamed it as a matter of pride but I feel like they don’t see how pathetic it makes them looking, bragging about being incapable of individual or critical thinking.

There’s also the whole “we must purge the neocons, RINOs, bushies, etc” thing but “we need a big tent” and “no purity tests” for the neo-Nazis and the Nazi-curious.
Bonchie@bonchieredstate

The reason the podcaster thing hits so hard is because of the hypocrisy involved. For years, these same people trashed anyone who had any disagreement with Trump, no matter how sincere. But the moment they didn’t get their way, they threw “unity” out the window.

Important: Wage growth is almost entirely eaten up by inflation now. Wage growth was +3.5% in March for the past 12 months Inflation was +3.3% in March for the past 12 months. This is the **squeeze** many households are feeling. Their pay won't be able to keep up with this level of inflation. (And yes it was the same sitaution in 2022).

@GregDaco @scottlincicome You were promised lower prices on “day 1”. Then you got unconstitutional tariffs and war without consultation with Congress. And surprise! More inflation….🤦‍♂️

@NoahCRothman I'm not claiming to be some super military expert, but I do wonder about this. He's probably right from a traditional military perspective, but the regime is still there and the strait is still closed. They clearly still have many asymmetric capabilities.

@reason It's all based on a completely fake lie about a "stolen" election in 2020. A total embarrassment.

A few humble suggestions for the next time we go to war, drawn from this utter national embarrassment: —Our political leaders should have at least some clue as to what they are trying to accomplish before they give the attack orders. —Those objectives should be clearly and consistently communicated to the American people and the world, instead of through unhinged late-night mobster tweets. —Our allies should be informed beforehand and brought into the strategy to ensure strategic success. —Congress should be pre-briefed and vote to approve the war declaration shortly after hostilities commence to give the American people confidence that there is broad support in the government for the decision and not just one man’s whim.

Trump’s “victory timeline” claims. Mar 3: "We won the war." Mar 7: "We defeated Iran." Mar 9: "We must attack Iran." Mar 9: "The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully." Mar 11: “You never like to say too early you won. We won. In the first hour it was over.” Mar 12: "We did win, but we haven't won completely yet." Mar 13: "We won the war." Mar 14: "Please help us." Mar 15: "If you don't help us, I will certainly remember it." Mar 16: "Actually, we don't need any help at all." Mar 16: "I was just testing to see who's listening to me." Mar 16: "If NATO doesn't help, they will suffer something very bad." Mar 17: "We neither need nor want NATO's help." Mar 17: "I don't need Congressional approval to withdraw from NATO." Mar 18: "Our allies must cooperate in reopening the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 19: "US allies need to get a grip - step up and help open the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 20: "NATO are cowards." Mar 21: "The Strait of Hormuz must be protected by the countries that use it. We don't use it, we don't need to open it." Mar 22: "This is the last time. I will give Iran 48 hours. Open the strait" Mar 22: "Iran is Dead" Mar 23: "We had very good and productive talks with Iran." Mar 24: "We’re making progress." Mar 25: “They gave us a present and the present arrived today. And it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize.” Mar 26: "Make a deal, or we’ll just keep blowing them away." Mar 27: "We don’t have to be there for NATO." Mar 28: No major quote Mar 29: Claimed talks were progressing Mar 30: "Open the Strait of Hormuz immediately, or face devastating consequences." Mar 31: Claimed a deal was "very close" and that Iran would "do the right thing" Apr 1: "We’ll see what happens very soon." Apr 2: Repeated that a deal was likely, while warning of continued strikes if not Apr 3: "Something big is going to happen." Apr 4: Said Iran must comply "immediately" or face further consequences. Apr 5: "Open the fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah." 😂
