@konstipaulus @Vjeux That'd be cool indeed! I'm wondering how the canvas is represented in code and how are you solving the layout. I guess there's some abstraction. Imperative or declarative?

@tequilafunks @Vjeux Really excited about running the timeline and the main canvas in the same gpu context soon. That will result in some significant architecture simplifications. Will share when it’s merged.

I expected these sticky labels to be an expensive UI detail, but they turned out surprisingly cheap. We keep a HashMap of labels and their measured lengths. If a label doesn’t fit, we binary search the maximum visible length and cache the shortened version too. After a bit of timeline usage, almost everything is a cache hit. Runtime effectively converges to O(1), so the feature ends up feeling nearly free.

@Everlier Same actually, even though i'm hitting some rough edges In VSCode I can lock the panel so that when I open files they're not being opened in the panel e.g with my terminal. In Zed, I have no idea yet how to do it

In 2016 I migrated from WebStorm to VS Code. The main reason was that VS Code was much much faster, leaner, simpler. Complexity is a huge problem in software, and that was a great solution at a time. Today, I'm switching to Zed from VS Code for all the exact same reasons. Zed is much faster, leaner and simpler as an editor. I don't want pop-ups, suggestions, recommendations, inability to decide a formatter for a JSON file, I just need an editor that works.

@tequilafunks I lost count of how many times I told Codex to inline such functions. Bonus when it also create a test for this.

content will keep being a large factor in SEO but if your content is written by ai there is no reason for ai to cite your content you will need to write more content than before, just more fresh content, insights only you can share unique fresh content is how you become visible in ai search endless slop will harm your website because it increases bounce rates/low engagement

@vanilagy It is in a Cloudflare Container. So mediabunny/server should work fine! It's important that users are uploading huge assets to the closest server possible to avoid long upload times / latency. This could be a strong marketing angle for the feature!

This is all the code that's needed to compress a video on the server while it's being uploaded Right now it's being written to a file, but you could also stream it to S3 or anywhere else

The upcoming @mediabunny/server is able to transcode 1080p videos at around ~9.5x real-time speed on my machine (M4). The best thing: the majority of the work is done in other threads, meaning the main thread basically sits close to idle at all times!
