Marathons are addictive. I've ran seven marathons so far, and it's still hell after kilometer 32. If you've run a marathon, you are absolutely incredible. It is one of the greatest achievements you can reach in a lifetime.

Automesse in Peking: China macht jetzt offenbar das Experiment, daß Ferdinand Piëch vorgehabt hatte – das dann aber damals, in den 1990er Jahren, in Deutschland bzw. der EU offenbar nicht möglich war. (Denn wäre es möglich gewesen, dann hätten sie's wohl gemacht, denn Piëch war ja der starke Mann bei VW, und eigentlich machten sie dort alles, was er sich ausgedacht hatte). Dazu muß man wissen: das Auto, das ein paar Jahre lang wenig erfolgreich auf deutschen Straßen herumfuhr und aussah wie ein unförmig vergrößerter Passat, eben der VW Phaeton, hatte nichts mehr zu tun mit der Idee, die Ferdinand Piëch insofern ursprünglich gehabt hatte. Eben weil die Idee sich eben wohl nicht umsetzen ließ. Die eigentliche Idee war nämlich: wenn man nun ein Auto herstellt, das nicht nur genauso gut und komfortabel ist wie ein Mercedes 600 oder ein BMW 750, sondern eindeutig technisch viel besser, und gleichzeitig kostet es nur die Hälfte – wie viele gutbetuchte Käufer werden dann trotzdem sagen: wir wollen, daß Mercedes oder BMW am Auto dransteht und daß es das Spitzenmodell – der Rest ist nicht so wichtig! Und wieviele nehmen dann das faktisch so viel bessere No-name-Auto? Weil ja reiche Leute oft nur deswegen reich geworden sind, weil sie rechnen und ökonomisch denken können? Wie gesagt, mit dem Phaeton, der dann faktisch gebaut worden ist, ging das nicht – denn das war dann nur ein vergrößerter Passat, der beinah so viel kostete wie ein Spitzen-Mercedes. Aber die Chinesen wollen das seinerzeitige Programm nun wohl umsetzen...
