@wholemars Someone will create a new programming language using agents, it doesn’t necessarily have to be cause and effect or a direct relationship between current code and code written by agents in the future.

everybody's writing the same machine generated code. who is going to feel the urge to create a new programming language, new syntax, or a new software architecture? are we doomed to regurgitate the same software patterns, CSS frameworks, and front end designs that we've come up with so far

The past year or so I have been fascinated with IQ and the data / discussion surrounding it. Sufficiently obsessed so that I bring it up in conversation opportunistically. Believe it or not, I’m convinced a deep unfiltered discussion of IQ and what we can learn from it is at the heart of what is needed to continue healing from the woke mind virus. Entirely too many broken mindsets and policies orbit the idea that all people are essentially interchangeable and that culture, education, and nutrition are more influential than genetics. This is obviously untrue to anyone who bothers to think for a few seconds. As an extreme example, the most well fed human on earth will never ever grow to the size of a blue whale. Similarly, the most well fed and educated blue whale will never win the Boston marathon. Our human genes have an upper bound to the size we can grow, and blue whales have their own limitations. These are silly and obvious and indisputable because they are easily measured and without exception. They are also entirely uncontroversial because they are cross species. To discuss and understand IQ in depth requires you to accept that human sexes and races also have measurable differences. This is a far more dangerous discussion, figuratively but perhaps also literally. There are many exceptions, but they don’t change the rule. I was talking to a psychologist about the topic. They considered themselves an IQ expert, and so I knew the conversation was going to get interesting quick one way or another. Unfortunately I wasn’t surprised to hear them immediately make a point that the test is biased against certain cultures. It’s always that, or the uninformed argument that IQ only measures one type of intelligence… She pointed out California case Larry P. v. Riles (1979) which prohibits testing African American students in CA for the purposes of special education placement. I started to push back, asking to clarify how that was proof the test was bias. Their response was to insult my own intelligence. To assume I have no idea what test norms are or how they are created and applied. I tried to respond to that, but they were already upset and made it clear they were finished with our talk. Look, I get it. It’s not fun or convenient to admit that much of our success or failure is fate sealed in our genetics. But it’s critical in the face of a delusional population to start facing difficult truths instead of denying them. Else we end up with men playing women’s sports and entering their locker rooms.

The amount of information the average person consumes has increased by multitudes. IQ might have been valid for a certain intake of information processing capability. In today’s world it should look something like: best future outcome predictor = IQ + AQ + EQ + SQ + some other quotients as the input increased by 10x - 100x so the processing capability also needs more factors to digest that data and convert it into information to predict the outcomes.

@teslatop5 you should research the statistics involved. sure, i'm sure it could be better, but its VERY useful.

You’re citing a 47 year old study. I’m pretty sure things have changed drastically in the last 50 years. From grok: Specific reference in thread: The 1979 Larry P. v. Riles court case (nearly 47 years old as of 2026), which Penny mentions, ruled against using certain IQ tests for placing Black students in special education in California due to alleged bias.

@imPenny2x My only argument against it is that it is outdated. I’d say maybe decently useful because of a lack of a better metric but for sure not very useful.

@imPenny2x If you say it’s the best predictor I would push back and say we need more variables as we have the ability to go deeper more granular and we have the tools. IQ is very outdated.

@teslatop5 that's like saying you know a girl who is stronger than some men. of course its not literally boy is always stronger than girl, but it's still an incredible predictor.

I am not endorsing the woke mind virus in any shape or form but I personally know many people with high iq who are nowhere close to being as successful as others who I know are low iq who have done very well in life. Real world is much much much more complex than something as trivial as IQ measured through judging a person’s responses. There are people from ALL races on every end of the IQ spectrum as well as success spectrum.

I stand with @Teamsters. We do not have planes without pilots. We need drivers on trucks for safety, edge cases, and inclement weather. AI should be for the people, not just billionaires. I will continue to fight for legislation to stand up for truck drivers that was vetoed.

Viewership in tennis is increasing year over year for the last 10 years. AI definitely cannot touch real sports. This clip is fine for doom scrolling but watch Alcaraz v/s Sinner or Djokovic or Federer or Nadal live was truly remarkable. They’ll come up with Laver v/s Federer matches with AI but no matter how realistic it gets, it’ll never beat reality only augment it.

Grok is now better at Twitter than the typical X user, and is swiftly improving I no longer have any idea what social media will look like within 5 years, let alone a decade, when the machines are better at content creation than pretty much everyone It clearly passes Turing

Cybercab ramp + launching two new geofence with unsupervised from the start is easily the most bullish event for Tesla in a REALLY long time. Now we wait for regulatory clarity. Per @CernBasher and others, Tesla’s not bound by the 2,500 limit exemption. I’m still very unclear about this being the case in my own research, but if it’s correct, then Tesla’s only bottleneck is state regulations + overseas. If those end up catching up, then the floodgates are wide open for Tesla to literally cover the world with driverless Cybercab. I will be very happy to CONCEDE THE CROWN if my thesis turns out to be incorrect.
