@GodfreeTrh @dadiomov Godfrey, you studied in China in 1961, that’s make you about 85. I’m sorry I was rude to you. China has substantially modernised, but not westernised. If your health permits it is a safe country to visit.

@GodfreeTrh @dadiomov Deng Xiaoping was a diminuitive man, his name sounds like "little bottle". I'm sure many people were involved with the rise of China, but he has been largely regarded as the person who persuaded the politburo to take such a big risk in opening China up.

1/ finished reading an amazing biography of Deng Xiaoping. I was looking for something as deeply researched as Robert Caro's biographies of a great leader and, though no one rises to Caro's level of research, this was a fantastic read on the greatest country pivot of all time

Some basic data for those who support the idea of attacking Iran's electrical and gas infrastructure. Israel's entire area is about 1.33% the size of that of Iran. Now consider for yourself which country is most likely to have it's electrical and gas infrastructure knocked out first.

Did you know that Australia is sitting on 43 years of fuel security in those orange basins on the map? 17.5 billion barrels of recoverable oil confirmed in the 2013 EIA report (US Energy Information Administration). We're importing 90% of our fuel while this goldmine sits locked away thanks to decades of political betrayal by impotent Liberal and Labor governments. Mining our own fuel will deliver similar or slightly cheaper(!) pump prices than what we're used to throughout 2025 It would take 8–15+ years but hey, that's exactly why we should've started yesterday. Will the current fuel crisis finally wake us up to ditch all the green virtue signaling, if only for our own survival? As a huge Tesla fan (and ex-employee) who loves the idea of electrifying everything, I say we need to: 🇦🇺⛽️ DRILL BABY DRILL ⛽️🇦🇺

Deng's decade was a disaster. Life expectancy fell for the first and only time, crime and prostitution returned and 22% inflation triggered the Tiananmen demonstrations. He was a nasty, vindictive failure. He was provably responsible for the Great Leap famine. After coming to power by coup in July 1977 after dismissal in April 1976 rehabilitated the party secretaries of the provinces worst hit during the Great Leap Forward, who were attacked during the Cultural Revolution for good reason. See for details https://gmachine1729.livejo... His children and similar elites formed their own red guard units in 1966-1967 and tried to divert the attacks against important scientists and former landlords/capitalists but eventually their conspiracy became evident, leading to their dismissal. And really, the intense power struggles that permeated important organizations across the country ended in 1968. Given how shitty Deng was, one can imagine how much worse he would have been had he not been out from 1967-1973 and again from 1976 April to 1977 July. In retrospect, China was successful in that the elites didn't totally sell out like USSR elite. Maybe if not for the Cultural Revolution, they would have done so. Deng, a 4' 11" inch midget, was way more cruel in persecuting those considered associated with the Gang of Four after he came to power again in 1977 than were Mao or others to him.

Can someone explain to me how and why we allow China to supply up to 97% of our antibiotics, 95% of our ibuprofen and 50% of our penicillin? And what would stop them from methodically tampering with the ingredients you know since they have a long term plan to eliminate us?

The biggest problem is too many people believe this is a battle between Israel and Gaza or between Jews and Muslims. It’s not. This is an all-out war between Western civilization and a 1400-year old ideology that wants to rule the world. They just tell you it’s about Jews to get you on their side. The more gullible sheep like you they have, the easier it will be for them to conquer you. Stop making it so easy for them.

People will tell me I ‘got lucky’ That our propadee Ponzi bubble only popped because of World War 3 in the Middle East ‘No way you could predict that happening’ Guess what - you don’t need to When house prices are so disconnected from incomes and the debt levels are so stratospheric It creates extreme fragility And then all it takes is a little external shock And then….pop 🫧 📌

@champagnesftboi Cheap housing is key to R&D success. People do it out of love of the game, but it’s risky. A grant and affordable housing can make it work. Dyson famously survived R&D on his wife’s teaching salary for a few years.

BREAKING: Microsoft just announced several major changes to Windows 11 in an effort to win back user trust and evolve the platform into something people will actually want to use over macOS and Linux! It's a huge announcement that addresses Windows 11's biggest problems today, tackling core fundamental issues such as unreliable system performance, UX consistency, AI bloat and general enshittification. Microsoft has confirmed that this year, it WILL be reducing where ads and Copilot appear throughout the system, including in Start, Widgets, Notepad, Photos, and more! File Explorer and Windows Search will be upgraded with improved performance and capabilities that make finding apps and files much faster and easier. The OS will become lighter with less RAM and system utilization at idle, making it smoother to run on low end hardware with limited memory. These improvements will also benefit high-end PCs too. Windows Update will be improved with more granular controls and the ability to postpone updates for longer, along with reducing how often the OS needs to restart to install an update. Microsoft has also confirmed that it's bringing back fan favourite features such as the ability to move the Taskbar! It's also working to update more areas of the system shell with modern WinUI designs, which should make Windows 11 feel more coherent and complete. There's much more in the announcement, and it honestly all sounds too good to be true. Microsoft really is listening to feedback, and is eager to make Windows the BEST desktop OS on the market. More details including when these changes will arrive in the link! windowscentral.com/microsoft/wind…
