.@HSBC_UK @ASPolice @metpoliceuk @CityPolice CYBERCRIME IN PROGRESS: Someone appears to be trying to defraud students at Queen Mary University of London using an HSBC UK bank account. The (alleged) fraudster has attempted to impersonate Queen Mary University of London and has requested payment of £850.00 for tuition fees into an HSBC UK account. Here's a screenshot of the email I received. Queen Mary uses qmul.ac.uk, NOT kct.ac.in or qmul-ac.store for their domain. Additionally, these are not QMUL's usual bank details for payment of tuition fees! As this is using a UK bank account, please can you investigate further? Please DM me if you'd like IP addresses, original email headers, etc. CC @HSBC @QMUL

Hi @Prolific, researcher + client here. Your dashboard keeps giving a 500 Error. Looks like you have some bad Javascript here (seeing this in the JS error console): "index-CIs5ycgj.js:29 Uncaught (in promise) AxiosError: Request failed with status code 500 at XB (index-CIs5ycgj.js:29:1092) at XMLHttpRequest.A (index-CIs5ycgj.js:29:5970)" See screenshot. ETA for a fix? I have tried different browser, and disabling plugins... not a good first-time customer experience :S

I think it's time to look into competitors like @Prolific , @CloudResearch or @ Atrocious experience with MTurk. I definitely do NOT recommend Amazon MTurk/AWS to other researchers. How Amazon can have an amazing support for their retail arm, but so terrible for AWS, is surprising.

UPDATE #1 - pretty unhelpful reply from @amazonmturk @AWSSupport So... basically "yeah weve suspended your account, no, were not going to tell you why, or do anything to help, even though you're a paying customer with a premium AWS support plan"

.@AmazonMturk has an awful, awful signup process, I don't even know where to begin. My story: I am an MSc-level student researcher conducting a study of 140 participants on perceptions of psychotherapy and coaching. Firstly, when you signup with MTurk, you have to do the cumbersome process of linking your AWS Billing account to your MTurk account -- you can no longer apparently just buy some MTurk credits with a credit card. No, you have to setup AWS, and that is a hassle in itself. Once you have prepared your MTurk HIT and have gone to the hassle of linking your AWS Billing Account, adding a payment method, verifying, etc, you can't just launch your task for workers. Oh no. You have to then *manually* email Amazon to ask for a credit limit increase. And then you have to wait for them to manually approve the increase (could be a few days). Your first MTurk HIT will always fail to launch because for some strange reason, they set the spend limit at $0.02 -- so effectively, you can't launch any MTurk HITS off the bat. And then -- my account got BANNED for literally no reason. They said "that your Requester account is related to another Amazon Mechanical Turk account that was closed for violation of the MTurk Participation Agreement." I've never used Amazon MTurk before in my life! Maybe others at my university might have? Not me. But apparently my account is now suspended. And despite being a paying customer with a paid-for Amazon account (I got the premium support option thinking I'd get a better level of support), they basically said they won't help me, and I have to now email their dedicated appeals email address (which by the way, free accounts can also email -- so not sure why I am even paying for premium support at this stage). Perhaps I should use @Prolific, @CloudResearch or @clickworker_com instead? I'd be happy to take my business elsewhere if Amazon are going to make things this awkward and cumbersome... @amazon @AWSSupport @amazonmturk Please do better. This has been an atrocious experience for me as a new customer! Rant over. #rant

@ChatGPTapp, I'm having problems accessing ChatGPT via your website. Seems that you've decided to stick that annoying CloudFlare service in front of it. Please investigate (am a paying customer). The page keeps refreshing with the CloudFlare saying 'Verifying...'
