@shiri_shh What are you really selling? A website by itself is not a product. Every business owner knows websites exist. The ones who dont have one likely dont have one by choice. Meaning they are either too broke, not at all interested or are making money just fine

70% of local businesses still don’t have proper websites. what if we use OpenClaw to: > scrape local businesses from Google Business profile > auto-generate a clean website for each based on the info scraped earlier. > email the owner with a site preview + payment link to activate the site. 100 emails daily with a 2% conversion rate $499 × 2 × 30 = $30k per month

I’ve gotten a lot of messages that say something like: “I’m building this, check it out here [XXX]” Then I click on the website and there are 10 acronyms I don’t know and all sorts of technical jargon. That won’t work. This needs to be Feynman’d. Explain it to a 5 year old.

The opportunity to onboard "normal people" to the latest AI is much bigger than I originally thought. Honestly, $100k+ per month feels low. In a high income city, it could be a $10m+ business. To validate it, I tried to stand up an AI Assistant by myself (as a tech novice). It was painful. Here's what I did: 0. Phoned a tech friend to get basic steps 1. Bought a Mac Mini 2. Created a Claude Developer Account 3a. Factory reset old iPhone 3b. Created a new phone line for iPhone 4. Created a new email address 5. Created a new iCloud account 6. Used EasyClaw for setup That took me about six hours, but I had a functional AI assistant by the end of it. It was fun feeling like an idiot. I like being an embarrassing beginner. A bunch of pain points to solve (for anyone who wants to build in this space): - I had no idea what I needed. I called a friend and annoyed him for an hour to figure that out in the first place. People don't know what they don't know. - I don't know what "Terminal" is and had never used it. Running commands there was totally foreign to me and I made dumb mistakes (like thinking it wasn't working because I was typing my password and it wasn't showing). - I really wanted to understand security and how to keep this new unit completely walled off from my other systems. It took me a while to make sure I was doing all of that properly and how to maintain that integrity going forward. - I had no understanding of tokens, usage limits, and how to think about that usage going forward. - Connections and integrations of tools (like iMessage) were not intuitive at all. - No understanding of best practices for prompting, training, etc. The ongoing improvements would be great as a recurring stream after the initial deployment. Those are just my initial reactions off the top of my head. I'm sure I'll have more as I continue to play with it. P.S. We're definitely living in the future. I got my AI Assistant to text my wife that I was coming down for dinner. She rolled her eyes at me when I got downstairs. THE FUTURE PEOPLE!

I think people get confused between “fun” and “satisfying” I actually do enjoy lifting and I look forward to it. I wouldnt call it “fun”. But it does bring a deep satisfaction. Thats what I look forward to. And just like you said it makes other things seem less hard and much more manageable and doable

I think there is a confusion about strength training as if it's something you should like I hate going to the gym, I hate lifting very heavy weights, it's exhausting, obviously HEAVY, and I wanna quit and end it ASAP But that's the entire point, it's choosing to suffer on purpose a few times per week so the rest of your life feels like a breeze compared If you've lifted 100kg 5 sets 5 reps, you've lifted 2500kg, that's a lot When I ask people why they don't lift, the answer is always "it's not fun" Yes Padel is "fun" Gym isn't about fun, it's to stop guaranteed muscle atrophy and bone density loss that comes with age after you're age 30, it's to keep your brain and body healthy It's to make every problem in your life feel like a breeze compared to what you just did It shouldn't be fun nor is any pursuit in life that's worth fighting for, the payout is fun though but few will ever see it because they want everything to be "fun" You're not a child!

Anybody that went from forcing themselves to lift weights to really liking it and looking forward to it? How?

Meet Google Sans Code — the new font meticulously crafted for coders, made by @Google! It blends geometric precision with a touch of calligraphic flair in a fixed-width design that's super easy to read, even at tiny code editor sizes. Say goodbye to squinting and hello to clear, beautiful code! ✨

I don't really get Claude Code. Why do you guys want to sit in a terminal to look over changes vs the multi-tasking capability and UX of the whole IDE? I must be missing something!

In the past week+ I've been in a state of near-constant crash out levels of anxiety and it has not been enjoyable to go through. Its the result of bad health (lack of sleep (baby) and lack of exercise (lazy/busy)) + noticing things change I'm not sure if its noticeable. I'm erratic and strange to begin with. But maybe you noticed - my posting rates and my tone change. What kicked it off was seeing more and more people around me (extremely!) addicted to youtube shorts / instagram reels plus personally being subject to an OOM more mouse-trap experiments to get me hooked onto them from google (not happening, bitch). There's a reasonable amount of experimentation to improve software - but I don't think blasting the population with something they never signed up for to *trap* them is good I talk to engineers at these companies. I have friends. I know what's going on I don't need to use instagram or facebook. I just stopped using them. Thankfully, facebook doesn't force me to dodge reels to use the messaging platform. But I need to use youtube to learn things about electronics and tech. I don't have a choice. Its not like i'm going to watch them. But every time I see yet another trap, I get reminded of the dread. I'm filled with pain. I know what's happening. It's not like I can even explain it to the people around me. They're fucked There was a moment - where I looked at my kid and realized the war that I was about to get engaged in (against tech companies, to protect my kid(s)). It elevated my anxiety to a state of panic. I've always been a proprietary-software-is-bad nut but this is qualitatively different. Children don't stand a chance. I'm horrified - of seeing the first moment my kid uses software that I did not write myself. I myself struggle against the constant dark UX mouse traps. I'm going to try to focus on good positive things like wood-working and robotics and not think about it too much. I'm going on a camping trip soon and I think that will help. This has consumed me and I've been kind of losing my mind. It's actually bad

The education system needs to change. The pace of technology changes too fast and traditional schooling cant keep up. It makes no sense that we tell young adults to spend 4 years “learning” before they are allowed to actually do the jobs they have been working towards. Worse yet, the schooling system preselects for good employees rather than entrepreneurs. Some of the most brilliant entrepreneurs were horrible students, because rather than accept a predetermined path or curriculum they said “fuck this I want to do my own thing” and they are punished for it. We need a education system that works for the builders, the innovators of our time. Especially in the age of AI, we need to rethink our over reliance on credentials and create a model that works for the future.

@kareem_carr What would a “something burger” look like to you? Because if your bar is “replace all human labour” that seems excessive Entry level jobs are already being eaten up… you may not be seeing it because you are at the phd level? Do you have engineering friends?

When I say the current AI has been a nothing burger after two years, I’m not saying it doesn’t matter. The personal computer was a nothing burger after the first two years too. It took literally decades for computers to reshape society.

Can someone help me find the best software for the following use case: I need video storage with great search-ability at the scene level. We will be recording terabytes of footage + B-roll footage of various types. I want to store all of this in the cloud, and be able to search through all of it. Not just transcription search, but meaning based searches, and for objects and projects etc. I want to be able to locate portions of the videos that are relevant based on the searches of my editing team. BONUS: AI tagging and organization. DOUBLE BONUS: You can set public folders that anyone can search through. If this doesn't exist, i'm willing to pay thousands / month for this and I know many other people would do the same.

Trump yesterday: We are talking to China "every day." China today: China and the US have not held any trade discussions, all such reports are false. China has just effectively denied any claims of a trade deal in the making.

Find me the junior designer who can come close to this in 5 minutes. If you know how to use ai, you can literally teach myself how to make it better and apply it and launch and deploy it in the same time as this theoretical junior designer Don’t get me wrong, a designer would do a better job with unlimited time and resources, but bang for your buck is not beating ai in most cases
