We used to be a society. You could literally just say retarded. The Black Eyed Peas literally called “Let’s Get it Started” “Let’s Get Retarded” before the woke liberal agenda made them change the lyrics for mass success. You could just say things. We used to be free.

@sircalebhammer IT is also not entirely accurate as it is based on a single metric GDP per capita. In general it means while there is more dirt poor people in Alabama there are also more stupid rich.

This is one of the most fascinating financial realities of 2026. People in ALABAMA are RICHER than in CANADA!!! wtf lol. This is crazy. I spent days digging into the data for today's mini documentary- it's a wild one. You'll love it: youtu.be/6a-zOT_DZLU

I am an Alabama resident. The state of Alabama has a higher GDP per capita than Canada; $66,300 vs. $58,000. We also have lower taxes. As such, Alabamians have more disposable income than Canadians. We can afford nice houses for a fraction of the cost that they would cost in Canada. The median home price in Alabama is around $220,000. In Canada, the median is about $650,000. In Alabama, that could get you a very nice 4,000 square-foot house. A lot of successful people live here. Huntsville, for instance, is home to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and a university. They have among the highest number of Ph.D.'s per capita as a result of that. Has Canada sent man to the moon? I'm asking for a friend. There's also Auburn University and the University of Alabama down in Tuscaloosa. They are both very good schools for a college education. Alabama has more daylight hours and better weather, on average. We get more Vitamin D because we can spend more time outdoors. Alabama also doesn't have a carbon tax because our governor doesn't believe in the fairytale that trace carbon dioxide (CO₂) controls the weather. Where Canada arguably has an advantage is in social safety (e.g., violent crime rates) and health (e.g. life expectancy), but it comes at the expense of taxpayers, which reduces individual freedom. Here in the states, you need to work to bring yourself up, and if you do that and put the work in, you have better material living.

@elie_mcn The misinformation on fracking is absolutely insane and it's the same people that are anti nuclear energy too. They just believe all the fear mongering and misleading information, meanwhile both are some of the most environmentally responsible. It's 2026 we HAVE improved...

@patrickjkoenig Trying to figure out who is who. It’s not easy. I think you listed them in order from left to right in the back. But Rob doesn’t look like a guy who would get wiped out by a large Modelo or get screwed over by some contractors. Now I’m confused.

Today I played a $40 golf course as a single and got paired with 3 random golfers. Had a blast. I love doing this and can’t recommend it enough. Ted: Senior Designer on World of Warcraft —-> early retirement. Rob: Drank a large Modelo that wiped him out. Currently getting “screwed over by several contractors.” Neil: Jolly old English lad. 14 months sober.

The electricity abundance and affordability that Canada has enjoyed for decades are ending. Generation is down, exports are now imports, and investment is flat. Canada’s impending electricity shortage is not just an affordability crisis; it is an economic and security one as well. Pleased to launch this paper at @ippsaconference today /1 macdonaldlaurier.ca/wp-content/upl…
