@maximumwelfare Only "headspace" I know of is the one that's about making your bullet cartridges the proper length to... do bullet things, I guess.

@maximumwelfare I mean sure but we could save a lot of time and money by just giving the ombudsman investigator the authority to issue orders instead of recommendations, and the sole downside would be a small number of senior bureaucrats wouldn't be able to postpone embarassment as long.

The Commonwealth Ombudsman should refer dealings between DEWR, the Albanese Government and the employment services lobby in 2022 to the NACC. These providers donate money they receive to political parties. Advocates identified these problems on day 1, were ignored and lied to.

The fact that something that has ingested the entirety of human literature can't figure out how to generalize multiplication past 13 digits is actually a sign of the fact that it has no understanding of what a multiplication algorithm is.
Yuntian Deng@yuntiandeng

For those curious about how o3-mini performs on multi-digit multiplication, here's the result. It does much better than o1 but still struggles past 13×13. (Same evaluation setup as before, but with 40 test examples per cell.)

@AsFarce @jonkudelka Remember it was the lnp who introduced the independent vs dependent youth allowance rates: they got votes for "forcing" many of their voters to support their children "Abusive parents" are a significant factor in the LNP vote

@_Levi_3 @notkavi Wars are bad (like, massively destructive). I'm mostly just pointing out the dynamics; it doesn't take that many votes to empower a rule-or-ruin strategy, so you get much less warning than people realise before strict constitutional compliance ceases to be effective.

@NewtonMark (in the US, the parties basically work as the two halves of an ethnically-split electoral roll, and "bipartisanship" means "the Maronites and Malays need to work together or we'll descend back to pogroms". It's just another example of using inapplicable foreign frameworks)

@dsquareddigest @TACJ I once figured you could do softer-edged regulation by a sort of biodiversity tontine [kill bats, pay money to people with living bats, -> $infinity as number of bats fell], but I was never able to convince me it'd work, and the paperwork [the point!] looked worse, not better.

@TACJ you are going back and forth between regulations and outcomes. the regulation is the protection of biodiversity. the bat tunnel is one outcome suggested by engineers as the optimal solution given the constraints. which one of these do you have a problem with?

So the easy way to tell if you're on bsky or Twitter is, if the responses to the post you're looking at look like they're written by morons, you're on twitter. It is *staggering* how much stupider the top responses are here.

Multiple @FBI moles are telling me that special agents are openly calling anyone who agrees to assist ICE a "Nazi."
Steve Friend@RealStevefriend

Some @FBI offices are asking for volunteers to assist ICE. This is the new vax mandate. They’ll identify people who step forward as conservative and initiate purges. Confirm @Kash_Patel ASAP.

@sam_d_1995 @alexisxrivas Stopping distance [=vehicle separation] varies with the square of speed, so faster vehicles means less capacity. With that level of knowledge and understanding he needs to be told that the only useful input he can offer is his silence.

Read through 1995-1999 threads posted on rec.arts.anime and rec.arts.anime.misc. The later half of 1999 was a downhill, seemingly because a troll called Gaza appeared and ruined the atmosphere of the group. Plus, the atmosphere of the fandom changed due to the Pokemon fad.

@jimbosteen1 @hamhammer27 Yes, because the economics of airport rail for a city like Melbourne only work if you can do them on the cheap say by bundling them with other projects.

@hymmerinc @hamhammer27 It's the benefit side that's low: the marginal improvement from shifting to skybus to rail isn't *gigantic*, and the number of passengers is also lower than. Airport rail really needs to be done as a small part of bigger projects, which was possible in Bris and Syd but...

@hamhammer27 I genuinely don't see how the BCR on the airport rail can be that low, unless the airport line is ridiculously expensive for no good reason
