The Hidden Walls

Hello I’m an artist who’s obsessed with intricate details and stories. This year, I want to share my thoughts more openly in 2025. Correct, educate and come discourse with me if u like to. All are welcome. I won’t gate my posts, I will, and have always, try to reply each and every one of u. I’ve been drawing for a long time, i draw for my day job back in the days, and have been in the creative industry as a SAIKANG Art Director and strategist for the past 10+ years. SAIKANG means “clear shit till midnight” but yea no one’s asking 😂 I only got serious about pursuing art in 2021. Since going into art, I’ve always used my commercial eye to jab at art I consume and draw. I’ve never really appreciated documentary style of art or art that’s too personal. Art that gave a new twist or have a double meaning always intrigued me. I guess that’s me looking for “value” in a commercial sense. This year I feel smth changed in me. I feel this strong urge to pursue more kinds of art even more, study deeper and learn how to fuse what I love most yet make it relevant. It’s hard, cos what I know will all have to be thrown away. In 2025, I’ll grow more and I want to share these 💬 with u all so u will know me better as a person and an artist. And that’s essentially why I set out to do Doodverse, and why I’m called The Hidden Walls. It’s for the love of experimenting and exploring, yet letting my art become that vessel that helps u get over these obstacles aka walls that u may have in life. @PaulinaRez_ I’m with u on this, equally confused and not sure if even pinning art myself will even solve anything. Bc in the future when fnd no longer exist, collectors won’t b able to view or sell the art.

GM 🫂 Thanks everyone for the advice on how to recover my work from the Foundation contract. I did it today. By the way, I managed to do it directly through the website—it's working again. So, do it while you still have the chance. But now I'm confused and upset. Even though all the art minted through Foundation is still with the collectors, the visual history is completely gone. I mean the prices it was bought for, the total volume, etc. I think this is important, especially for the collectors. I don't know what to do. As I understand it, OpenSea is the only marketplace that correctly displays the Foundation contract, but it doesn't show the sales volume. I also don't know what to do with my art now. If anyone wants to buy it, I'm open to any offers. You can send an offer on OpenSea or DM me—I can transfer the art directly to your wallet, etc. For now, I don't know what to do with all this. It's sad, really sad. ❤️‍🩹

The Foundation debacle feels like the biggest rug-pull in the space, imho. It’s hard to stay motivated to keep buying when the entire ecosystem can vanish on a whim and leave everyone high and dry~ 🤡🤷

The death of Foundation means the death of 144,000 artworks on their smart contract. Less than 10% will save via pinning. 100,000+ artworks will go into the abyss never to be seen again. Oh and those gas fees you paid to mint? Enjoy the tokenized receipt as that is all that will be left. Am considering whether @thelinegallery has a role here to repin en masse for Line artists… …mass deletion of tokenized art doesn’t seem right.

Frens, I had a ischemic stroke three days ago. Grateful my sister acted fast and called an ambulance in time. I went through surgery to remove a clot and I’m doing okay now. I’ll be in the hospital for a bit and probably not around much for a while. Honestly, it’s been a lot and also incredibly boring in here. If you’ve got anything interesting to watch, send it my way. Could use some good distractions right now.

I get it, many of us are emotionally attached to @foundation. (Including myself) Whether it was where you minted your first piece as an artist or collected your first piece of art as a collector, those memories were special. But let’s be honest, Foundation moved on from the community long ago. The infrastructure is winding down and there’s no real comeback. We shouldn’t hold onto false hope for another acquisition. The core team doesn’t care who the platform is handed to. They are focusing on money, you can clearly see that from the recent Blackdove deal that just fell through. Right now, the first thing that actually matters is retrieving our NFTs. (check the first comment if you're having trouble with IPFS.) Stop pouring energy into something that no longer supports us. Let’s put our energy where it belongs: on ourselves and on platforms that actually support artists. There are way better places to build today and they deserve much more attention: @TransientLabs @manifoldxyz @artblocks_io @verse_works @silkarthouse @objktcom @SuperRare @fellowshiptrust @Ninfa_io @AOTMgallery @opensea @dropdotart @8NAP_ART and many more. And honestly, the best platform for any artist is still your own. Let’s stop looking backward and focus on the bigger picture. The future of on-chain art is being built within us. Let’s go create there.
