I know many Mets fans are pissed about this and feel crushed and today sucks for many...but paying a defensive liability higher than any 1st baseman ever just wasn't happening. Good for him for getting the bag he has wanted for a while.
Hell of a run in Queens but it's clear Stearns & Mets want to move on from the core that didn't win anything and get a new group of players & personalities here.
Stearns 100% has the target on his back now...but he's got the $$ and resources to put together the guys he feels will make this team win.

Earlier this year the BS Budget Bill reduced the tax deduction for gambling losses to 90%.
In response, I introduced the FAIR BET Act to restore the commonsense 100% tax deduction to protect professional and recreational gamblers. I was the first in Congress to introduce this fix and haven’t stopped garnering support from members and stakeholders since.
In fact, the #FAIRBETAct has up to 21 bipartisan co-sponsors with @RepEzell most recently joining!
It is now critical for @WaysandMeansGOP to add this bill to the legislative calendar before the year ends. We must get this fixed.

As someone who lost everything on FTX, I want to see SBF pardoned by the end of Trump's term. And I think the groundwork is being laid so that it will happen.
I think SBF was in way over his head, but there is plenty of sin to go around. His jail sentence was just part of wrapping up a convenient narrative that justice is served.
To me, S&C is more crooked than SBF ever was. SBF in jail doesn't help me and isn't justice to me. I don't hate the guy. I want SBF back out there doing great things and cleaning this industry up, not rotting in a cell. I know he would if he got a chance at redemption.

The cognitive dissonance around SBF's appeal is astounding. I would expect "investigative journalist" to do at least a little research before drawing conclusions. He can be a criminal and also have been denied a fair trial. Both can be true. Who has the most to lose if a retrial surfaces previously hidden evidence of co-conspirators? Shouldn't this be lede that an "investigative journalist" should be uncovering? Could it be Sullivan & Cromwell, the same entity with deep ties to Washington that allegedly: 1) commandeered control of FTX and the bankruptcy 2) lied to the judge about pre-petition work structuring an entity to ofuscate source of funds to purchase 7.5% of HOOD 3) assisted SDNY in seizing and illegally liquidating creditor property before SBF was even convicted. Just so happens to be given back to SullCrom's own clients Robinhood at $12 (now trading at $137), coincidence?
