Testimony by detransitioners and whistleblowers is crucial to make lawmakers understand the harms caused by gender medicine. Thank you @detransaqua for speaking out today. Help us support their lawsuits to get justice. Link to donate below in thread.

So much going on here. First: there is no diagnosis. The kid says I am trans and the doctors say, yes you are trans! It’s healthy. Yay! Let’s celebrate. Live son or dead daughter was standard emotional blackmail in gender clinics across the western world for many years. WPATH Files awakenings make complete sense. We had a society-wide echo chamber for about a decade, where no one was allowed to talk about the ideological nature of gender medicine. WPATH Files was a huge international story and for many was the first time they’d encountered the truth about the world’s leading transgender healthcare group. And the rest is a bit rich coming from a man who advocates for a drastic life-altering medical treatment for healthy kids based on an “entirely subjective” self declared identity that cannot be “verified in any way.” Of course, @JonniSkinner’s story, and all the stories told by detransitioners, are so shocking that it’s far easier to dismiss them as untrue.

In a new New York Times op-ed, Thomas Edsall argues that Democrats need an “ideological exorcism” on several issues, including gender. He writes: “For now, because there are credible scientific claims of irreversible harms, such treatments for those under 18 should be barred pending further study.” Protecting children from irreversible medical interventions should never be a partisan issue. Whatever your politics, everyone should understand that children deserve healthcare guided by the strongest available evidence. Read more at the link in our replies. ⬇️

To get a sense of the order of magnitude of billing fraud among gender clinics. Texas Children's Hospital recently settled a claim by the DOJ involving billing fraud for $10 million. The Stop the Harm database indicates that Texas Children's only billed $11,000 over five years to proper gender dysphoria diagnoses. stoptheharmdatabase.com/state/texas/

“I just needed more support to build some self-worth. I needed to know that who I was maturing into, a non-conforming male who was drawn to other males, I needed to be told that there was nothing wrong with that. They caught me at such a pivotal point of identity formation that I just had no ability to conceptualize my future. At 13 we’re all insecure. So they weaponized that insecurity to exacerbate my body image issues, selling me hormones and surgeries to fix all that. It’s really horrible. I just needed the care that you would give to any gay teenager. This world is so big and so diverse, there is always going to be a place where you can be loved and accepted as who you are, just as you are without having to change your body to find acceptance and confidence.” Here at Themis we support the right of gay and lesbian people to grow and live in their healthy natural bodies.

A new video from Genspect Ambassador @JonniSkinner has dropped. It's the mind-blowing story of his transition process. On May 12th 2016 Jonni had an appointment with a therapist. He shared his story with her, well, as much story as a 13 year old boy can have. He talked about his fears of growing into a man, his beliefs around homosexuality and what he had seen from online influencers. He did not say he thought he was trans. ⬇️

Just a daily reminder that it’s not hateful to support gay and lesbian youth growing up in their own healthy, sexed bodies. Removing healthy body parts and causing permanent endocrine disruption is monstrous.

How many victims and parents were told about the likelihood of early onset menopause and what it could do to a young body? For no other ailment would a protocol with unproven efficacy and disastrous consequences of sex rejecting harmful medical malpractice disguised as so called “gender affirming care” be allowed. For no other ailment would whistle blowers, truth tellers and brave victims be silenced for political and financial gain. So many victims and parents trusted institutions and doctors who did not fully disclose the possible severe irreversible consequences such as below. It takes many years for the damage to be done, regret to set in and the courage to detransition grow. It is time to stand up and let the truth be told about this incredibly dangerous practice that is harming far too many vulnerable individuals. The statue of limitations must be changed so these victims can get the justice they deserve and for the professionals who led them down the destructive path of trans ideology be held accountable for the incredible damage they have done to the victims and their families. #10yearregret #statuteoflimitstions #detransitionerlawsuits #donoharm

A big development regarding WPATH
Benjamin Ryan@benryanwriter

Big development in the WPATH v. FTC fight. Chief Judge James Boasberg has denied WPATH’s request to block the FTC’s enforcement lawsuit against it in Texas. Earlier this year, WPATH sued the FTC in DC, arguing that a sweeping demand for its internal records was retaliation for its protected speech and violated the First Amendment. In May, Boasberg partially agreed. He issued a preliminary injunction blocking that specific demand, finding WPATH was likely to show it was retaliatory. But he confined the ruling to that one demand and declined to give WPATH any broader protection. The FTC then withdrew the demand. In June, it teamed up with several states and filed a separate enforcement suit against WPATH in the Northern District of Texas, alleging violations of the FTC Act’s bans on unfair or deceptive practices and false advertising. WPATH went back to Boasberg and asked him to shut the Texas case down, arguing it was duplicative of the DC litigation and threatened his earlier injunction. It wanted an anti-suit injunction forcing the FTC to litigate in DC instead. Today Boasberg said no. His May ruling covered only the withdrawn records demand, so there’s no threat to his jurisdiction. Being sued isn’t itself a First Amendment injury, and the expense of fighting on two fronts isn’t the kind of irreparable harm that justifies emergency relief, he found. WPATH now defends the false-advertising and deceptive-practices case in Texas, where it faces a highly sympathetic judge. Boasberg did leave one door open, noting WPATH can cite his prior opinion to try to fend off discovery there. Discovery could potentially be devastating to the organization.

“They had me apply for top surgery before I even had the testosterone.” Detransitioner Faith G. recently appeared on The Bridge podcast to share her story of how her mental health struggles as a teenager were misconstrued as gender-related and how she was rushed towards medicalization.

For five years, I waged this inner war before I mustered the courage to take the path of detransition. Five years in which the realization did not strike like a sudden bolt of lightning, but like a quiet, merciless awakening in installments. Every morning, the certainty seeped a little deeper into my consciousness: I have irrevocably and massively damaged my healthy body. For the rest of my life. Nothing about it happened overnight; it was the slow, almost silent dying of a gigantic illusion, layer by layer.

In diesen flüchtigen, unerwarteten Momenten lag keine Anklage. 🙏 #Detransition #Reue #Wahrheit #Mut #Menschsein

It’s time to look at the data.
Genspect@genspect

These statistics from the @CanSG_org conference should give everyone pause. Up to: • 50% incontinence after phalloplasty • 54% sexual dysfunction after phalloplasty • 87% urinary symptoms on testosterone • 65% genital discomfort on testosterone Before we encourage young people toward irreversible medical interventions, we should be asking whether they and their families are being fully informed about the possible lifelong consequences.
