@nickitruesdell Amazing way to start the day when “For You” gives me something as fascinatingly brilliant as this. Follow!

One day I picked up an old book at a library sale that was published in 1900. I paid $1 for it, and read it cover to cover. It was the autobiography of a mountain man.
I've picked up lots of these old books for next to nothing at library sales, and mourned that they were being replaced by dumber books in our county and school libraries.
But as I read it, I kept thinking, "This is what more Americans need to read!" I thought then how awesome it would be if I could republish them on paper (not eBooks) and get them into homes for people to read, and how awesome it would be for those people to preserve them and pass them down to their children and grandchildren.
I was already on a "home library" crusade, and it just made sense to encourage these home libraries to be filled with the books that told a thousand personal stories of America's history. Not books written by historians. Not books written by Marxist revisionists. Just the books that told the simple and amazing stories of building this nation, one mother, one pioneer, one soldier at a time.
And then I learned how to self-publish, and Knowledge Keepers Bookstore was born.
Since 2020, I've published 22 of these old books. Original histories from the journals of Columbus to the only authorized biography of the Wright Brothers, and lots of amazing books in between: pilgrims, presidents, slaves, cowboys, soldiers, Indians, sailors, teachers, pioneers, farmers, children, and more.
If you love books, history, and American exceptionalism, Knowledge Keepers is going to be your new favorite bookstore. knowledgekeepersbookstore.com

This reminds me of the time Southwest Airlines oversold our flight and put 2 of my kids on standby. Then they asked for volunteers to give up their spots for $2500 each, so we accepted their offer.
After the flight left without us, they claimed that they never should have made us the $2500 offer because they actually needed 2 *other* people to accept it so our family could get on our flight. They handed me much smaller vouchers to sign and I was like lol no.
So they tried to argue the definition of voluntary vs involuntary with me. I was like cool story give me your badge number to attach to this DOT complaint I’m about to file about your attempt to renege on our contract, violating DOT regulations.
This lead to multiple levels of escalation and to each person I said please give me your badge number to attach to this DOT complaint. While they were radioing the next guy up the chain I said okay I’m going to go sit over there and I’ll wait for you to page me when you have resolved this situation in a satisfactory fashion.
The entire time, I was extremely calm and used my Dangerous Professional voice. (h/t @patio11)
Ended up with multiples of the original promised amount + inconvenience compensation + customer service reached out with more vouchers.

Wow, my daughter just text me that the airline asked for 5 volunteers to get off the plane for $1200 free lodging and a free flight tomorrow. The problem was Weight on the plane. A family of 5 took that amazing deal.

@TheTopRepost How about connecting with property management companies and/or individual owners of vacation rentals? Those jobs could be everything from clean up / make ready to outdoor and indoor maintenance and upkeep. Also, corporate/commercial properties often need services.

I really need this weather to turn around. I haven’t had a call for new business in 4-5 days now. I know being a new company it takes time, but I have spots to fill on the schedule! I keep advertising on FB and hanging up door hangars, giving out business cards and such. Any other ideas appreciated!

I believe in the power of prayer. Please join me in praying for Maddox. Dear Jesus, please heal him and help his family get through this difficult time 🙏✝️🙏
Last night Maddox Graser had two hits and helped his Wooster High School baseball team win 10 to 0.
He was perfectly fine.
By 8 pm he was throwing up at home. It got worse fast. He was rushed to the hospital in Wooster and then life flighted to the Pediatric ICU at Akron Children’s Hospital this morning.
Maddox is a sophomore. A second baseman. A teammate. A son.
Right now he has no brain activity.
From a baseball field celebrating a win to a pediatric ICU fighting for his life in less than twelve hours. His family never saw this coming. Nobody did.
His mom and dad are sitting in that hospital right now needing every prayer they can get.
If you believe in miracles please stop scrolling right now and say one for Maddox. His family is pleading for them.
Please share this post. The wider this reaches the more people are praying over this young man tonight.
Maddox Graser. Remember that name and lift it up.

@BuzzPatterson This is great! I’ve been contemplating short form video content too. Interested to hear your thoughts on the genre once you’ve posted some - I’m thinking the reception will be excellent. Yes, start with the stories…
