We need a midfield rebuild. Spending too much on one player, even though he is mint, would be good if we had quality players in the midfield. The situation is different from where clubs like Man City or Arsenal are at, who can overspend on that one player. The added pressure that comes from being a Man Utd player with a hefty price tag is not the same at clubs like Man City or Arsenal, and we have seen this way too many times where the players don’t reach the same levels as they were bought for.

This might be a hot take, but I’d slap £120m on the table & say ‘we’ll pay.’ We’ve wasted £60m on transfer flops before. Yes, it’s a huge fee, but this is as close to a guaranteed success as you’ll find. Hold off on the LW until next summer and use Cunha/Dorgu there for now.
