Digital workplaces and intranets. Knowledge management and making technology do the work. Good food is my favorite. I drink and I know things.

The water in my hotel room is… 88% plant based? This raises far more questions than it answers, frankly.

Low key most impactful near-term improvement announced at #M365Conf is #MicrosoftList entry forms. No-code changes like replace column title with questions, seemingly block access to the list after submission, much prettier. About time! #SharePoint

@jowyang You could remove “the ads on” from that sentence and it would still be true.

Is it just me, or all the quality of the ads on Twitter rather poor.

Social media apps as Lord of the Rings characters, a thread: Twitter: Twitter is Gollum. Began as a normal halfling. Overexposure to evil left it thin and stretched and bitter.

@buckleyplanet Twitter lags for me. I'm not rated high enough in their algorithms anymore😀.

#Collabtalk #A7 - As some have mentioned, "doing more with less" isn't the thing, really. It comes down to being able to do more because there are more tools and capacity potentially available. It is also about doing DIFFERENT so that MORE can be achieved.

#Collabtalk #A7 - Microsoft's commitment to nonprofits (small ones with fewer than 10 licenses needed) is very very good. You can get a free tenant with nearly E5 functionality.

@buckleyplanet Paying attention to and actually being able to get on board the boat are two different things.

#Collabtalk #A5 - This isn't a reality that we have encountered. Curious to know if this actually happens at scale for a lot of orgs?

The free and lower-tier offerings are nice (non-profit offerings are great), but they seem to be suited for very small shops of fewer than 10 people or so. For larger orgs (thousands of employees), the scale of licensing needed may be too much.

#Collabtalk #A4 Not sure if they are doing enough, to be honest. The latest and greatest (AI) is truly remarkable, but very expensive for them to develop and offer. They will have to get their investment back-->more licenses. More orgs may be left out.

@buildbod Not sure where we are at the moment, but I suspect there will be the longest and deepest trough of disillusionment coming for many. This is being hyped VERY hard and it may be out of reach for a lot of orgs for a long while.

@buckleyplanet Search (deep and wide across the org), but also WITH context that it already KNOWS for us. Fewer intentional and action-based searches with search bars and more Super Smart Clippys that deliver what you need just before you realize you will need it.

A3 #CollabTalk I also look at #AI as helping us move to the next level of search. Anything that can help us better surface and use the content we already have will dramatically impact productivity.

@buckleyplanet We've seen the hype. We've watched the sci-fi for decades around this stuff. Where is the ACTUAL reality going to land for the average (poorly resourced) org?

A3 #CollabTalk Microsoft's Copilot announcements are very exciting, but they need to deliver. I don't think we even fully understand how much will change, and how quickly.

#Collabtalk #A3 If the org has the resources (money for the inevitable premium licenses and staff and leadership to craft and enforce responsible policies, etc), then the sky is the limit. Amazing, powerful tech. May be out of reach for many, though...

#Collabtalk #A2 - Simple tools like MS Forms have saved a ton of time and effort for our college faculty and staff. The next step to true transformation is training them to think about data lifecyle, using PowerPlatform, etc.
