BREAKING: New polling shows Governor Roy Cooper skyrocketing in the polls against his Republican opponent in North Carolina’s critical Senate race. This would be an enormous flip.

Today’s Supreme Court ruling guts the Voting Rights Act and turns back the clock on the foundational promise of equality and fairness in our election systems. Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act was one of the last remaining federal protections for Black and brown voters against maps deliberately drawn to dilute their political power. That protection has been stripped away. It is an outrage. But it is not a surprise. It is part of an agenda that conservatives set in place decades ago to steal power from everyday people and then cling to that power for generations. The court’s decision is motivated by politics and designed to give an upper hand to Donald Trump’s Republican Party, which faces the threat of losing the upcoming midterm elections. We must pay attention to what happens next. The fight now returns to the states. Legislatures — particularly those in the South — will rush to redraw districts before voting for the midterms begins in just a few months. Already, Louisiana and Florida are planning to redraw their maps, and we should not be surprised if others rapidly follow suit ahead of the midterms and 2028. Their politically-motivated power grab is meant to protect elected Republicans from any consequences for their failure to make groceries, gas, health care, or housing more affordable for you and your family. They want to cheat and choose their voters, instead of the voters deciding who they choose. The mission before us is to restore the power of the people. There is no question our fight became harder today, but I know we are up for the battle.

Today's Supreme Court decision reverses hard-won progress under the Voting Rights Act. It means less representation for millions of Black Americans and other voters of color, as lawmakers gain greater ability to manipulate their districts. There will be more extreme partisan gerrymandering, lopsided elections, less accountable government, and policies that hurt rather than help with everyday life. But this is no time to be demoralized, because we know it does not have to be this way. We can mobilize around reform, new laws, and where necessary, constitutional amendments for fairer government. Only then can we feel the benefits of a balanced Court, a truly representative Congress, and an election system free from the distorting power of extreme corporate and partisan manipulation.

This decision is outrageous. MAGA is SCARED of YOU. They know they LOSE when Black, Latino, and diverse voters are heard — so they shut them up and rig the maps. We’re not backing down. November is coming.

The country is in the midst of a devastating affordability crisis. Republicans haven’t done a damn thing to solve that problem. But they are willing to spend billions to drop bombs in the Middle East. Enough.

My opponent says prices are down. I'm not sure who he's talking to, but all over North Carolina, I'm hearing the opposite. It costs more to put food on the table, and now gas prices are up — but @WhatleyNC says it's fine. It's hard to be more out of touch than that.

If Republicans are so concerned about national security, they’re welcome to make some compromises on body cams and unmasking ICE agents for starters. But don’t expect Democrats to give another 50 billion to fund the war in Iran when they’ve already signed off on over a trillion between the Pentagon budget and reconciliation bill. And as for Kristi Noem, she deserves every bit of scrutiny coming to her and then some. Senator Kennedy wouldn’t have it any other way.

While Kristi Noem funneled $220M in taxpayer funds into self-promoting political ads, she refused to distribute $500M+ in FEMA funding for LA Fire survivors. The Trump Administration must immediately release that relief and redirect those wasted ad dollars to recovery efforts.

Neguse: Where is this company headquartered? Noem: I don’t know. Neguse: I don’t know either. We can’t find it. We did find an address that’s registered to a political operative. This company that received 143 million dollars was incorporated 8 days before this contract went out. You want the American people to believe that this is all above board, that $143 million of taxpayer money just happened to go to this one company that doesn't have a headquarters, doesn't have a website, has never done work for the federal government before and is registered apparently or attached to a residence from a political operative, and of course one of the subcontractors of that contract, as you know, is a political firm that's tied to, to you back when you were governor of South Dakota?

🚨 BREAKING: Ro Khanna says a new precedent has just been set and it means Donald Trump must testify before Congress on the Epstein files. “We had the Trump rule — presidents don’t have to comply with subpoenas. Now we have the Clinton rule — presidents and their families testify when Congress issues one.” If that’s the standard now, then apply it. Trump needs to sit before the committee. Under oath. Explain what he knew about Epstein. And explain why the full files still aren’t out. Rules only matter if they apply to everyone.
