chatgpt work is remarkable, and "work" undersells it. from my phone i sent: "use all my chat history to figure out ideas for a long weekend trip with 8 friends, plan the best three options, make a full-stack site where the 9 of us can coordinate on what we would want to do in each place and decide where to go, and then after we get to group agreement make reservations. draft an email in my gmail i can send out to my friends when the site is ready." it...just worked.

Kotak Bank has this stupid thing on its NetBanking where it won't let you paste a randomly generated password (like i9nZbUp*NP3Qr4h) from a password manager or even manually. I need to move my account. Please suggest a bank without such braindead technology in its login.

One of my favorite things about owning a Tesla: I can control it from anywhere. It’s parked far away. I just finished my workout, and it’s 113 degrees in my car. Clicked one button in my app, and it’ll be 68 when I get there.

@BraedendotTECH @tobyscript Back it the days I made plenty of SW components for BAE and Airbus. They followed DO-178B. Mostly assembly. I hope rust cults shall not get there with hidden control-flows.

Anthropic wouldn’t exist without Google open sourcing the transformers papers. Google could have filed for a patent and gained an AI monopoly. Anthropic trying to eliminate open source when it is built on open source is ironic and not in a fun way.
Demis Hassabis@demishassabis

A strong and secure open ecosystem is important for the world to benefit from AI. We’ve always supported and contributed heavily to open source and science from Jax to Transformers to AlphaFold to Gemma open models which have now been downloaded 300M+ times. And the standards framework we’ve proposed supports responsible deployment of both open and proprietary models.

Fil-C intentionally and disingenously conflates Rust's meaning of memory safety (compile time static analysis leading to runtime robustness) with its meaning (GC and runtime safe crash). Not comparable, the latter you get in many GC langs. Fil-C's innovation is that it can make old C software less radioactive without requiring extensive patching or rewrites.
The Lunduke Journal@LundukeJournal

If “Memory Safety” was truly the ultimate goal, Rust would not be the ideal solution. Fil-c, for example, does a far more effective job of bringing “Memory Safety” to existing, massive code bases. That is one of the (several) indicators that Rust activists have an ulterior motive (that has nothing to do with “Memory Safety”).

@_soniashenoy In a depreciating currency debt is a way to short the currency itself. This is actually brilliant. In fact not taking debt is actually losing money these days.

One of the big issues India faces is the rising of household debt India’s household debt stands at 45.5% of GDP according to RBI , the highest in many years the bigger concern is not the rise in borrowing, it's the changing nature of credit demand. Consumption loans have outpaced housing and business loans There is rapid growth in unsecured lending I spoke to Amitabh Chaudhry of Axis Bank on this issue. He says 70% of household debt is in super prime category which is people who can afford to take this debt and pay it back @AxisBank

The Twitter Files revealed that Jack censored and banned accounts of tens of thousands of common users at the behest of US government agencies and private, billionaire-funded think tanks like the Atlantic Council. These were people who did not share the political views of the American ruling elite on everything from Covid, China, Ukraine, Russia and India. @jack actively suppressed voices on behalf of the Washington regime and its private donors.

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-Weigh…

Fun fact. RIMM stock soared for a year after the iPhone was released and only fell much later. Sometimes the market takes time to realize a company is being completely disrupted.

Took an ex-Japanese Min to start a broader discourse on indigenous, open-source BTCS. To help gradually cut reliance on foreign signalling, accelerate deployment & support future ~7,000 km of HSR corridors. IND's rail mod/upgrade is a multi-billion capex endeavour. Better late than never.
