@llovesnascar43@TheWeekdaeZA@formularacers_@sportscar365 Maybe. Of course it's a possibility. Or maybe he feels pressured to keep racing because his daddy bought an entire team just so he can race. That's why he never looks happy out there. Ever think about that?
BREAKING—Mark Few has been voted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, sources told @CBSSports. Few, 63, built a one-of-a-kind story at Gonzaga, turning a small Jesuit school into one of the biggest brands in CBB. Two NCAA title games, 773-156 record, 44 league titles + more
@tryingitonce@PaddyPhilly@MattNorlander@CBSSports@ZagMBB Few at Gonzaga: 27 yrs 2 FF 0 NC
Tark at UNLV: 19 yrs 4 FF 1 NC
One could argue that double the Final Fours and a Nat Championship with one of the greatest teams of all time evens out the additional 8 years that you're holding as the difference maker.
@VDubProductions@jmauren07@MrBlockbuster99@NFL_Convo@bbrown0523 True, but the only dilemma about the schedule is if they get screwed and their bye is in week 5 or 6. Anything beyond that should still give them ample time for evaluation. I'm not saying he has to start after the bye, just that is a good time to look at it.
The Raiders planning to start Cousins over Mendoza should tell you exactly how they feel about Mendoza
In no world should the 1st Overall pick backup a 37 year old washed QB while they are in rebuild mode
@lepke2112@AdamSchefter They're not recycling anything. He's being brought in to play/mentor until Mendoza learns the system. Plus it saves Mendoza from getting his head kicked in until the new O-line gels. At most Cousins plays this year. Most likely we'll see Mendoza after the bye week.
@AdamSchefter It’s so hard being a Raider Fan? Why would you want Cousins, if you’re drafting Mendoza? Newsflash: we were the worst Team in the NFL and we are not winning anything next season either so how about developing young up and coming players instead recycling old mediocre Players?
Comp update: Kirk Cousins will sign a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one-year, fully-guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80M.
The Falcons will pay Cousins $8.7 million this season, the Raiders another $1.3 million and Las Vegas also agreed to pay its new QB a fully-guaranteed $10 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year.
And maybe most notably, it also sets another new mark: this will be the 11th straight NFL season in which Cousins’ contract will be fully guaranteed.
@MattNorlander@CBSSports He's 63 but has 44 league titles? He started as head coach at Gonzaga at age 19? And won the league every single year? That's wild.
@PaddyPhilly@MattNorlander@CBSSports@ZagMBB Many mid-majors have gotten to the Elite 8. What Few has done to build Gonzaga from a one hit wonder into a national power with sustained success over almost 30 years has never been done before.
@SportsCenter Overall #1 seed that couldn't reach the final four. Trailed a 16 seed for 30 minutes. Now out of the tournament and yet ESPN is still riding Duke's jock.
@samuel_agb70216@SportsCenter They were the overall #1 seed and couldn't reach the final four. 3 times they blew double digit leads. Trailed for 30 minutes against a #16 seed. Trailed almost the entire game against 5 seed St John's. Sorry, but none of that points to an absurd level of dominance.
35-3 with all three losses by a combined 5 points is an absurd level of dominance. Duke was the clear No. 1 team most of the year elite defense, efficient offense, and they controlled games against everyone except in those brutal, razor-thin moments. Blowing double-digit leads (especially that 19-point hole vs UConn) stings, and the late-game execution will be the big question this offseason. But credit to Scheyer and the staff for building a squad that was basically unbeatable for 35 games. In March, one possession or one lucky bounce can rewrite everything. This team was special — just didn’t get the final script they deserved. On to the next chapter. #GoDuke
@JimSpano4@Cynomas334@SportsCenter UConn got destroyed first half. UConn isn’t a good team. One lucky win can happen to anyone good teams don’t get behind by 19 points
UTEP Director of Athletics Jim Senter sent an email to fans today with the subject line “Future of UTEP Athletics.”
“Dear Miner Nation:
With our 2025-26 basketball seasons completed, I wanted to take a minute to update you on the current state of UTEP Athletics.
The win-loss records in football, men’s and women’s basketball are nowhere near where we want them to be, nor are they what our fans expect and deserve. We believe in our head coaches, who have all been highly successful in the past. But we understand that we need to provide them with the tools to be successful. I believe we have a resource challenge, not a head coaching issue. Let me explain.
College athletics has undergone widespread, unprecedented change in recent years. Student-athletes can now transfer liberally and become eligible the next year. They are also able to earn compensation by monetizing their Name, Image & Likeness (NIL), or entering into Revenue Sharing (Rev Share) agreements and being paid directly by their school.
Currently, NCAA Division I institutions such as UTEP can provide student-athletes with up to $20.5 million annually. The reality is, few schools at our level come close to matching that number. Still, it’s an “arms race,” and the schools with the most money are most likely to entice the most talented student-athletes to join their program and give them the best chance of enjoying success.
Last year, our fundraising efforts produced $1.1 million which we could allocate to Rev Share for recruiting and retaining football and basketball student-athletes. We anticipate having $3.45 million for Rev Share during the 2026-27 athletic year – a sizeable jump, but this number still needs to grow to keep up with our Mountain West (MW) peers.
We are grateful for our donors who contributed a record $12 million in fiscal year 2025. You may be wondering why more of this total wasn't allocated to Rev Share. Of the $12 million raised, $8 million was dedicated to our Climb Higher initiative which helped UTEP cover the exit fees and forfeiture of revenue associated with departing Conference USA. Essentially, our donors helped us keep the lights on the past two years! Now that we are in a more stable financial position entering the MW, we are able to allocate over $2.3 million from our budget to Rev Share which will supplement donor contributions, giving us the aforementioned $3.45 million budget.
You may have also read that UTEP has one of the top budgets for men’s basketball in CUSA. This is also accurate, but these monies are utilized solely for general operating expenses. The costs of team travel and recruiting are higher here due to our isolated location and factor into our basketball budget.
All told, it is an exciting time for UTEP Athletics as we officially join the MW on July 1. We have a tremendous opportunity as a fan base and community to bring UTEP back to national prominence, but we can't continue on our current path and expect different results. What is needed now is a unified Miner Nation and a collective investment from campus, students, alumni, donors and the El Paso community to ensure competitive success in our new home.
If you’re asking, “How can I help?,” the answer is simple. Get involved! Buy season tickets, join the Miner Athletic Club for as little as $9.15 per month, and contribute to our competitive excellence funds in support of the team(s) of your choice. If you’re a business owner, become a corporate partner and/or buy a group experience for your employees.
As we look to the future of UTEP Athletics, it will take all of us to “Reach the Peak” in the MW. I urge each of you to share this with your friends, family and UTEP fans far and wide, and ask them to join us in our fight. Help us to elevate our competitive success, pursue championships relentlessly, and “Climb Higher” as an athletic department and El Paso community.
Thank you and Go Miners!

Jim Senter
Vice President and Director of Athletics”
@drewcuse@AIannelliJr21@PeteThamel Depends. Might not even win. As soon as this hiring cycle ends he'll probably have his agent put out feelers for who's looking to hire next year.
@drewcuse@AIannelliJr21@PeteThamel Ok, maybe he stays two years. Doesn't matter. 3 jobs in 4 years . He's already proven himself to be a selfish job chaser. No way will he be committed to PC.
@AIannelliJr21@PeteThamel He’ll still be at PC. The Big East isn’t a juggernaut conference by any means but Hodgson just took a step up and it’s not gonna be so easy. I’m sure he’ll do well eventually but it won’t be a kick down the door kinda thing like he had in the SBC and AAC.
@VivaLosAggies Nah, Gerry Mac is a Syracuse man. Won the national championship in '03 with Carmelo there, was Boeheim's asst for over a decade. Job is open and probably his for the asking.
@awfulannouncing Why not have all mid majors in it? The only P5 schools are ones that can't even play .400 ball in conference (Auburn) and then cry that they are too good for it. At least most mid major teams and their fans will be excited for the opportunity.
