As someone with a worm’s eye view of the legislative process, it really irritates me that Starmer’s spin for the poor local election results is that his Govt hasn’t been moving fast enough. There were 40 bills in the first parliamentary session and there are 37 in the second, as set out in yesterday’s King’s Speech. Starmer has created 96 peers – a higher rate per year than any previous Prime Minister. He could not be going any faster. The fact that the legislation the Govt has rammed through has not delivered growth or reduced the tax burden on working people or lowered the cost of living – delivered the ‘change’ that Labour promised – is because they’re not designed to do that. They’re designed to placate the Party’s ‘stakeholders’ – backbench Labour MPs, trade unions, NGOs, think tanks, lobby groups, allies in the legal profession, cheerleaders in the media, etc. It’s been bleedin’ obvious to everyone on the opposition benches – and probably some on the Govt benches too – that the legislation was introduced in the last parliamentary session – particularly the Employment Rights Act – will impede growth, not accelerate it. We’ve told the Govt’s ministers this in the chamber again and again and everything we’ve predicted would happen has happened – rising unemployment, rising inflation, accelerating borrowing costs, an unmanageable welfare bill, exodus of high income-earners, thereby increasing the tax burden on the rest of us, etc. The idea that if the Govt had been going *even faster* – which is just straightforwardly impossible – the country would be better off, is for the birds. Even as a piece of spin, it’s pathetic. The reason we’re in an economic doom spiral is because this Govt is only interested in pandering to its ‘stakeholders’ and their only motive is to line their own pockets and advance their own narrow sectional interests. Changing the leader will make no difference. We need a Prime Minister and a Govt who are going to prioritise the national interest. I don’t see anyone in the pack of hyenas stalking Starmer who’s going to do that.

In 2025 hours where gas was below 20% of Britain’s electricity mix averaged £60/MWh, compared to £130/MWh in hours where gas generated more than half of power. Renewables bring down wholesale prices. Gas increases wholesale prices. Fact, however angry you get 👍🏻

Have you ever heard an MP talking like Rupert Lowe does? He is raking through the whole dirty corrupt system we have been living under and also telling us about his finds? That’s never happened! This shows he’s not a career politician! We absolutely need him ! Restore Britain

Despite repeated warnings from judges, lawyers, opposition MPs and even his own backbenchers, Keir Starmer’s government is pressing ahead with plans to restrict our right to trial by jury. Restricting jury trials is a full-scale assault on English liberty — especially free speech. FSU research shows that people charged with speech-related offences are almost twice as likely to be acquitted in a Crown Court before a jury than in a magistrates’ court without one. Jury trials are a vital bulwark against an increasingly authoritarian state and a militant cancel-culture mob — both of which pose an acute threat today.

Britain is not just badly governed, it is being financially destroyed by ideology. It's pretty simple, ordinary people are being taxed, billed and squeezed to fund a failing state that cannot even pay its own interest without borrowing more money.

It just gets worse. Today, 83 of the 532 Crown courtrooms in England and Wales are sitting empty — that’s 16 per cent. David Lammy claims the only way to tackle the backlog of 80,000 Crown Court cases is to curb our fundamental right to trial by jury. He says this without any credible evidence. The truth is blindingly obvious: jury trials are not the problem. The problem is that the courts are not sitting. Open the courts. Save jury trials.

📣🚨 NEW FSU BRIEFING | Starmer's Misinformation Mafia The people demanding powers to cleanse the internet of "fake news" have been caught spreading it themselves. In a new briefing by former investigative journalist David Rose, The FSU has exposed Labour's Tufton St Mafia. A network of think tanks and campaign groups closely linked to Sir Keir Starmer — with Morgan McSweeney at its centre — has spent years lobbying for online censorship while simultaneously circulating false, defamatory smears against journalists, political opponents and social media gadflies. All in the name of restoring "integrity" to British public life. Josh Simons, the former head of Labour Together, a think tank founded by McSweeney, and an ex-Cabinet Office minister, commissioned a secret report from PR firm APCO Worldwide that falsely accused multiple journalists of being covert Russian "assets". He then passed those claims to GCHQ. When Starmer's "ethics advisor" was asked to investigate, he exonerated Simons without having read vital evidence submitted to him by one of the golden boy's journalist victims — and has refused to reopen the inquiry in spite of calls to do so by numerous Labour MPs. APCO listed eight journalists who'd been critical of Starmer's "extreme centrism" and exposed Labour Together's role in his rapid political rise, including its failure to declare significant donations — as "significant persons of interest". Nobody at Labour Together objected. The smears were then shared with senior Labour figures and special advisers and passed on to British intelligence in an effort to further discredit the journalists. The network doesn't stop at Labour Together. The Center for Countering Digital Hate — also founded by McSweeney — destroyed media outlets critical of Starmer and "technocratic managerialism" more generally by strong-arming advertisers to boycott them on the grounds they were "funding hate". The CCDH also enjoyed extraordinary access to the Biden White House and used its influence to persuade US officials to "flag" politically incorrect inconvenient social media content as "misinformation" and "disinformation", putting those companies under pressure to remove it. Its head, Imran Ahmed, who used to share an office with McSweeney, now faces deportation from the US for allegedly censoring American citizens and breaching the First Amendment. On the fringes of this shadowy network: Christopher Steele, ex-British spy and author of the discredited Trump dossier, who has since peddled fabricated "intelligence" about British public figures to Labour MPs, who then regurgitated it in the Commons under parliamentary privilege. One target lost £8 million. Leaked evidence shows Steele wrote the smear and texted it directly to Mr Clean Up Parliament Liam Byrne MP, who repeated it verbatim. The Speaker of the Commons has called the smearing of journalists a "very serious matter". Former Labour Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has accused the ethics watchdog of using procedural rules to avoid doing his job. The PR industry regulator is now investigating APCO. Here is the paradox at the heart of this scandal: the same people pressing for the British state to grant itself sweeping new censorship powers in the name of cleansing the internet of "misinformation" and "disinformation" — powers to censor social media, journalists, even political speech — have been caught lying about their enemies and suppressing legitimate reporting. (Although Simons continues to insist he did nothing wrong, because he believed — wrongly as it transpired — there had been an illegal hack.) Many of these people were behind the censorious Online Safety Act and are now lobbying Starmer to make it even more draconian. How can we trust a single argument they make for further restricting what those they disagree with — including journalists investigating their political chicanery — are allowed to say? The OBR drew this chart. Yellow line is what the state takes. Green line is what the state spends. The gap will be filled by stealing from you, your children and their children. By 2074, UK debt hits 270% of GDP. The state's own watchdog admits it in writing. Yesterday the bond market read the chart. UK 30 year gilt: 5.76%. Highest since 1998. UK 10 year: 5.08%. The market knows what comes next. When yields rise too far, the Bank of England will step in. They will print. They will buy. They will debase. They will steal from your children's future and their children. Just like 2022. Just like covid. Just like 2008. Savers smoked. Pensioners smoked. Gilt holders smoked. The pound will lose another generation of purchasing power in months, not years. You have been betrayed. And this is only the beginning.
