🚨New: Ruth's Chris Steak House has a new dress code “business casual” for customers to wear proper attire with diners who don't comply being relegated to the bar. “Kindly remove all hats when entering the restaurant. Guests wearing ball caps are asked to dine in the bar/lounge." “The following attire is not permitted in our dining rooms: Gym wear, pool attire, tank tops, clothing with offensive graphics or language, revealing clothing, or exposed undergarments.” How do you feel about this?

@joce_leigh nice photos. I'm almost certain that I have broken the 1,000 threshold but just never really bothered counting. My shelves remain significantly disorganised across two different houses...

I photographed some of my bookshelves recently. I am in the 3% that have over 1000 and yes, the more I have, the more disorganized it has gotten! I know where they all are though! I also got rid of so many classics after my degree thinking the library has them but now they don’t!

@OliverJia1014 Thanks Oliver :) Yeah, writing a journal article and a monograph (writing mine was its own special form of hell) is a very different experience from journalistic writing :) Each has its own place and journalism at least gets more eyeballs!

But yes, there is a huge difference and I've realized I'm not cut out for academic writing. Journalistic writing unfortunately isn't very viable for a career these days either, but I'll continue to write freelance columns.

Today I officially decided to drop out of my PhD program.
I’ve learned a lot and met many interesting people, but academia ultimately wasn’t for me.
Time to move on with my life.

Welp, that second article just got rejected by my department after I waited months. They didn’t even bother giving me feedback this time. My options now are to submit my thesis with articles I wrote as a journalist which I doubt they’ll accept or withdraw altogether. Fantastic.

I have to say I strongly disagree with analysis that implies that Iran was on a path to eventual normalisation with the West and that these decapitations have pushed them into a further hardline position. That’s cope. War or not, Iran’s regime only had one path regardless.
