Unless @Apple's decision to terminate @craigraw's Apple Developer account is reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow will fail, and development on macOS will end. If you value Sparrow, a repost would help. @AppleSupport
Craig Raw 🐦@craigraw

My attempt to protect users from scam apps on the @AppStore has gotten my Apple Developer account flagged for termination - ironically, for "dishonest activity". Unless it's reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow Wallet will fail, and development on macOS will end. The context: since 2023, more than a dozen fake "Sparrow" apps have appeared on the App Store, as recently as April this year. Users have contacted me after losing their savings, in some cases their life savings, to these impersonators. I'm the developer of the real Sparrow Wallet, a desktop app, and I hold the registered US trademarks for the name and logo. I have publicly warned @Apple and the community about these fake apps from early 2024, but they keep appearing. The app @Apple flagged was a placeholder that was never published. Its only purpose was to warn users that Sparrow is desktop-only and that other "Sparrow" apps aren't mine. This approach may have been misguided, but there was nothing dishonest about it. I'm confident this is an automated misclassification that Apple would reverse on review - but I may be terminated before a human ever looks at my appeal. The cost would fall on @Apple's own users: blocked installs and no updates for a tool people rely on, which opens the door for more fakes. If you value Sparrow, a repost would help. @AppleSupport

@keonne In the eyes of many you stand tall as Satoshi did when he developed Bitcoin. Keep that in mind when in there. Be proud of yourself for what you gave us and the fact that you are one of us and not them. Thank you for making us Satoshi Samourais.

Tonight is the last time I will sleep in my own bed next to my loving wife. For the next 5 years I will be housed in a federal prison at taxpayer expense for a "crime" without a victim. Just one of many victims of lawfare perpetrated by a weaponized Biden DOJ where truth and justice were sidelined in favor of a political anti innovation agenda. Where evidence was hidden and suppressed because it didn't fit the story highly partisan line prosecutors needed to tell. Where Supreme Court precedence was ignored by activist judges. Tomorrow I will surrender to FPC Morgantown. I will no longer be Keonne Rodriguez inside that institution, instead I will be a number, 11404-511. But outside of those walls my name will be kept alive. My loving wife, my family, my friends, all of you who have supported #pardonsamourai will make sure of that. I know walking into that institution that the story doesn't end there. I maintain hope that President @realDonaldTrump is a fair man, a man of the people, who will see this prosecution for what it was: an anti innovation, anti american, attack on the rights and liberties of free people. I believe his team @AGPamBondi @EdMartinDOJ @DAGToddBlanche and others truly want to end the weaponization of the DOJ that the previous administration wielded so effectively. The framers of our Constitution gave the Executive the power to pardon for exactly this reason, to balance out and restore justice when no one else would. President Trump has proven he takes that power seriously. I believe he will continue to wield that power for good and pardon me and Bill. Keep up the noise. Thank you all for your support. See you on the other side.

@econoalchemist All they did was: take $100 bill, split it 5 times and put a fake serial number on those $20 bills that bastards from Chainanalysis would know nothing about. All taking place within the wallet. That's why they had to go "down". No money transmission, especially no money laundering

Non-custodial means that Samourai Wallet never took anyone's money. It was just a piece of software that allowed the user to keep control of their own money. That is not a money transmitting business by any stretch of the meaning, yet the DOJ is throwing these software developers in prison for their code. ✍️ sign & share the petition to #pardonsamourai & get this issue in front of @realDonaldTrump change.org/billandkeonne Watch the full interview with @LibertyRoundTbl here: libertyroundtable.com/podcast/lrt-vi…

No one is going to run nodes if archival data contains tonnes of gross media/malware plainly embedded in the chain. "It's possible to do that anyway in some way no one ever does at the moment" I'm tired of hearing it. Default policy of 100kb for OP_RETURN means it'll be commonplace, having been actively endorsed by Core and everyone not rejecting their recklessness. That is "technically" no different whilst realistically another planet from where we are now.

@DominicFrisby Further evidence of Prague being a high trust city ... I used public transport A LOT Observations - Not once was my ticket checked. It felt like buying marmalade from an honesty box - No litter or graffiti at all - Not hoards of staff - No gate control - Cheap - Aircon worked

Portable Wealth in a Wobbly World I am writing today’s dispatch from Prague Airport, on my way back to Blighty. What a splendid city Prague is, and what a lovely bunch the Czechs are. It feels like this is still very much a high-trust society. Twice I left my bag in public places – full of very nickable laptop, passport and other gubbins – and both times I came back to find my bag untouched, but safely put to one side. At night the city felt safe. It was very clean – I actually started looking out for litter and I couldn’t see any anywhere, whether in the centre or the suburbs, where I was staying. I always think litter – or lack thereof – is a good indicator of how much people really care about their surroundings, how loyal to and invested in their area they feel, and, indeed, how well brought up they are. The Czechs were lovely: polite, hard-working, respectful, full of ambition and drive, and good looking. The story is that Hitler went to university in Prague and loved the place that so much that, when the Nazis invaded in 1939, he ordered that the city should not be bombed but preserved. I heard the story last time I was here, and heard it again this time. But then I just fact-checked this story and apparently it is total rollocks - Hitler never went to university anywhere, nor did he visit Prague. Perhaps the city survived because the Czechs decided not put up any resistance, so the Nazis went unopposed, which meant they didn’t need to bomb anything. In any case, the city is preserved and you can feel the history as you stroll about the stunning centre. It makes you cry for all the cities that did get flattened in WWII and the memories that disappeared with them. The food was lovely. So was the beer. I even had a couple. All in all, travel, board and lodging cost half of what they do in London, I’d say, at a guess. Just as I did last time I was here, I came away enamoured with the place, feeling that I must come back soon. As for the conference itself and bitcoin, what did I learn?
