@KakwenzaRukira The problem is assuming Uganda is a functioning society.

If your rulers are weak and corrupt, a hostile civilisation will take advantage of the greed of your rulers to colonise you without firing a single shot.

@kimulikizito @pwatchug People in this country don’t appreciate the doctrine of a “social contract” that exists between voters and the voted…if we understood it properly we would have kicked some of those guys out of political office for breaching the social contract we have with them

PFF is appearing before the joint committee of Defense and legal Affairs committee of Parliament and counsel Yusuf Nsibambi is submitting in full support of the sovereignty bill. Eeeeh how times change! Until recently, Yusuf Nsibambi was one of the most celebrated law dons in Uganda🙈🙈 I lost an election recently and times are hard, may I never reach this level of fighting all that I have stood for all these years.

Once upon a time, there was that idea of « what will people think of me? » In Buganda we called it « banandaba batya? » It was such a powerful deterrent to bad behaviour and unseemly conduct. What happened? @SpireJim you usually have insights into things of this sort.

Uganda! A very senior military officer runs a political outfit that functions exactly like a political party, complete with an active secretariat and formal structures. The country's Attorney General, the government's chief legal adviser, is one of its key promoters. The outfit regularly issues press releases outlining its considered positions on the nation's most critical issues. It also has branded merchandise, featuring portraits of the officer, which supporters flaunt openly and without fear. The officer has celebrated his birthday with a purported charity run today, graced by senior government, military, police and prisons officers, including a deputy speaker of parliament, ranked 5th in the country’s order of precedence. And somehow, this is all considered normal. We are a wasted generation.

Every time I consider returning home to teach at a university, reality hits hard. A low salary is one thing, but paying UGX 2M in monthly taxes while driving on broken roads is another. And when you fall sick, there’s no medicine in public hospitals… yet we are expected to keep paying. At what point do citizens begin to feel the value of their taxes?

THAT STATEMENT IS NOT IN ANY WAY A REPRESENTATION OF THE PARTY POSITION! The party is carrying out an independent investigation into this matter to ascertain the FACTS and the results will be published on official party channels!

I cannot even begin to explain how having a financially stable background will do wonders for your career as an adult. You can pivot careers , quit a toxic job , try out other ventures. The opportunities are so expanded.

@AbdulahiAdan10 That type of accident happens more often than you think. The car driver has a responsibility to warn the person behind them of what’s happening ahead . Hazards would have helped, it’s not always about logic for the Boda, he might have seen it too late.

Chairman Nyanzi should come clean and tell us what statement he recorded when he was arrested for that parade! At this point, we may not know what we are dealing with but I can authoritatively say that the state is mainly relying on Nyanzi’s statement to persecute our comrades!
