This is why hosting is extremely hard. Congrats to the team from New Jersey that won the last game at Roswell today. The team you beat didn't leave one single thing. Absolutely embarrassing for your team and coaches. @PerfectGameUSA

@CoachCTyson The line “they are very disciplined and have very high motors” to every all white school is other side of this. They never say the white schools have great athletes. Pick your poison

@StrengthDebates Fully convinced that most HS S/C program would be far better off with doing nothing but heavy Olympic lifts, sprinting(preferably uphill), and jumping vertically and horizontally. Most of the rest is eyewash.

Modern S&C Athlete: I want to get bigger, stronger and faster. Coach: here’s 20 min of stretching and 15 min of stability work. Then we will barely lift weights while I criticize you on every rep while we regress everything. But we will put all that on fancy paper for you

@CoachDAngelo55 @Tier1athlete They’re high school football players. They do not need to be indoctrinated to a 12 month strength and conditioning program to play middle of the road football in BFE Pennsylvania. Man, yall are crazy.

S&C is a driver of all athletic performance. Football, arguably the most demanding physical game, can find perfectly healthy ways to maintain strength and explosiveness. Programs often lifting 3 times a week, IN SEASON. All I'm saying is that a high school athlete is at critical point in their life where their body is optimized to build lean mass and develop movement patterns that will carry them through life and any athletic persuit. Taking 3-4 months each off season to not get quality S&C, after 4 years, is over an entire year of growth you've left on the table. Kids can do it all but we need to be real with them. And I'm not naive enough to just endorse all other sport programs in a high school. Some have thoughtful well structured programs and other, frankly, are a crock of shit.

@CoachDAngelo55 @Tier1athlete Literally making his point for him. It’s not about you and your team anymore. It’s spring. It’s about the baseball or track or soccer team or whatever else they are playing. Leave em alone

Again, what kind of weight training are your spring sports doing? Is track only lifting 2 times a week and focusing on plyometrics? Is lacrosse doing a body building split 3 days a week? Is soccer doing 1 full body day a week and doing endurance conditioning? If my football athletes are not doing push+pull+squat+hinge resistence training (at least 3 days a week) and speed development year round. Then you bet I'm going to prefer they workout with my team.

@DennyDledford @CoachRC23 90% of coaches aren’t certified in training, are fat and out of shape, and have no business running a training program either. Pick your poison.

@CoachRC23 You have to realize 90% of trainers in most towns aren't certified or trained in anything. Many come from questionable backgrounds, have alterior motives, and are expensive you tube specialists.

Saw this again today… if you are a coach or trainer let’s hear your thoughts Why is there so much hate from HS coaches towards trainers CFB coaches will have trainers on campus working with their guys. All NFL guys have their trainers So why is it an issue w/ many HS coaches?

Think about this: 30 of 32 first-round NFL picks played multiple sports in high school. Specialization training is not the answer.

@OneViewRating @CoachNise In rural small towns this is probably not the case. It is a more pure HS game. But in the large school systems with high level programs and private school, the coach isn’t making 65k and the state isn’t paying him 120k. That ground is being made up in a lot of other ways.

@FiskPT This is the truth. Fball coaches want multi sport athletes as long as they’re still allowed to do football stuff during any other sport season. They’d never allow this to be the other way around though, like the example above. Fball coaches will never admit this though.

I've always said thay football is the banana in the fruit salad of sports. No matter what, everything tastes like & subjugates to banana. Demand a kid be at a fall baseball league game during football season & see how that goes. Happens the other way all the time.
Coach Hill@CoachMarcusHill

You high school football coaches having mandatory practice literally the week after school ends, first week of the summer so your football team can go 5-4 and not make the playoffs in the fall are absolute clowns

I did high school football S&C for a minute This was in Michigan, class c/d schools. It was to help a guy I knew out. Didn’t get paid a dime Minimal equipment, but I got it set up so some solid work got done, some strength was being built, and I got to know the kids This was spring to summer, volunteer sessions. Then summer practice starts up, and the coach I knew started doing the most idiotic shit imaginable. I forget what the drill was called, but it was 20 100 yard ‘sprints’, maybe “The Oklahoma”? Almost daily. The net result was the fast kids got slower, the slow kids got even slower, and the big linemen suffered the most Didn’t make kids mentally tougher, certainly didn’t help the 4th quarter Ended up telling the head coach he was a fucking idiot and ruining his athletes with all the dumb shit. I was invested with the kids at that point, just tied to moderate the weight training so they were keeping some strength gains.

@CoachNise Also funny to me that all the people commenting on this are getting paid by the same people who are paying the travel coaches salary. Who you think is finding your assistant coaches, booster club, your stipend, etc But the travel coach shouldn’t get paid 😂😂😂😂clowns

@NajiLyon @CoachNise Players on every roster from 5 different home towns. Bringing players from other teams to replace the ones you don’t like, most likely from another school district. 7/7 tournaments every weekend. “Scholarships” for top tier players. Sound familiar?
