I’ll share a small part of pickle.com Back in med school, I became obsessed with augmenting memory and dreamed of a Notion or Obsidian that completes itself. Today, we’ve built something close. My self-awareness is sharper and everything feels connected. I genuinely believe AI does not replace humans. It amplifies us. Huge respect to our engineers and designers who made this crazy thing real. Bubbles are the episodic units of my life that the system interprets from my raw data. Clouds are the system’s questions, its hypotheses about who I am. When I answer a cloud, it becomes a bubble again. There is so much personal data that I cannot fully demo it. Wish I could. This system understands me more deeply than anyone. Want to try it? Retweet and comment “memory.” I’ll DM you an access code to skip the waitlist.

Just a random example of why you really shouldn't want to use certain plugins. Anything above 500ms is really bad for performance, but you really want to be much much lower. So, three bad ones like this equals a bad performing WordPress site.

Such an exciting day. I proposed if() last year and got CSS WG consensus to add it to the spec on my birthday (!) last June. Now, less than a year later, it ships in the most widely used browser. I think it can be a game changer for design systems, especially together with ident() & revert-rule.
Una 🇺🇦@Una

CSS if() function landed today(!!!) in Chrome 137 🥳 along with another rad feature: reading-flow 🥳 So I put together a quick video showcasing both: youtu.be/Apn8ucs7AL0

‘We can’t use that CSS, it’s not safe.’ .. ?? Mate , it’s a style rule, not a chainsaw. You’re not cautious — you’re just boring with a helmet on. #css #progressive #enhancement

Holographic CSS Ticket effect. I love this effect so much that I had to recreate it. Here is how it's done:

Yesterday I helped a friend with their startup's single server going down after an update. Turned out the contractor's AI generated code loads over 12k records from the database and presents them in JSON responses (on every request). The pool of bad software contractors is already huge. With AI, I'm afraid it's getting even larger. I think it'll be very difficult for experienced coders to compete in contracting gigs.
Shayan@ImSh4yy

We're about to have a crazy amount of AI written vulnerable software out there, and it's going to be a mess. What a time to get into software security.

@joshmanders @nutricni Thanks for this pov. Tried to make this case in a 120km-2 hours one way commute (while basically being on a solo project...) 🤦‍♀️

It's not that I don't want to make shareholders rich, it's that I don't put their archaic micromanagement desires above my child. I live somewhere that requires me to be remote because if I wasn't, I wouldn't be in this field. The closest place to work for me is 74 miles away, or a 1 hour and 16 minute commute one way. In any case it would be insane for me to commute that to just sit in an office doing the same shit I can be doing from my own home. That's contingent on the idea that one of the few places hiring in that area would have a position for me. So my options are literally move somewhere else, which means I abandon my child. You know how much it would cost for me to comfortably tell my child moving somewhere else for a job meaning I'll go from seeing them 3-4 days out of the week to if I'm lucky a month in the summer time? I'll give you a hint, the top 10 richest people in the world's whole combined net worth isn't adequate enough, so I assure you, the $120k/yr job isn't gonna cut it either.

@CicmilJovan “Show me a mechanic shop built this year that doesn’t look like every other mechanic shop” Don’t reinvent the wheel. Do what works. I see far too many websites that try to get creative but don’t tell you in simple terms what they do.

@avstorm I'd go for the headphones cause moon is also often used for light/dark mode, the third one is unclear. But maybe an avatar of a person sticking their fingers in their ears might be best ;)
