I can see why Takaichi thought austerity had gone a bit far -- and I equally can understand the MoF's pushback given higher JGB rates. But I don't understand the argument that Japan's fiscal position is on a knife's edge & the United States' fiscal position is not ...

@CoffeeBlackMD Deadlifts are a superior move, if the grip is neutral. That’s why you see Derrick Henry repping multiple plates on the trap deadlift heading into his 11th NFL season. Surely, he would have done traditional grip deadlifts for 11 years if it was the best. It’s not. Elite or not.

For someone without a dog in the fight you appear to have a dog in the fight!! lol I wish these guys were as impressive as you think they are. Most of them are not. Are professional football players “weak” ? No. Was it fun knocking over the strawnan there? I’ll try again. The things that elite athletes do informs nothing about regular people. Elite athletes can eat nothing but peanut butter cups, sleep four hours per night, smoke more weed than snoop dog and they will run circles around normies.

I see this sentiment trying to claw its head above water again on my TL. It’s wrong. I *understand* why this kind of thought makes the rounds though. But it’s one of those times where your intuition really works again you. Deadlifts are the BEST mechanical stress you can place upon the body. You will spend your whole life needing to be able to stand up right, carry things (either in hands or on your back), lift objects off of the ground. It’s is the most “human” of movement patterns among the lifting movements. This isn’t even honestly debatable. Bevause you *can* use the heaviest mass, care needs to necessarily be taken with regard to form and load (weight plus sets/reps) especially if training at the higher ends of your tolerances. You don’t have to go BIG ever. Like literally ever to find benefit. If you aren’t deadlifting. You need to start today. If you want some help with form or getting strong af, reach out to @wolfstrength and there may be other good coaches but he’s helped me tremendously. He’s super smart. Thoughtful. A nerd. And stronk. Knows his stuff.

heavy deadlift is probably the worst exercise for a non athlete man in terms of risk and reward the risk is literally breaking your back for life against the reward of posting your videos on instagram circle

@CoffeeBlackMD Strength and conditioning coaches for D1 CFB and NFL teams are some of the most impressive people in the weight room. The claim was that deadlifts are the superior mechanical stress to place on the body. That claim is remarkably absent in this population. Are they weak? Dumb? LOL

@tomlin_ashcroft I don’t think anything an elite athlete does tells normal people anything. Furthermore, the strength training selections for elite athletes are often programmed by unimpressive people who don’t have a clue what they are doing. It’s irrelevant.

Treasury yields are higher once more. At some point they will matter. The 10 Yr yield is 4.603%, a level which many had thought would matter to equities mkts. The 30 Yr yield is 5.144% which brings back fond memories of 2007, the last time it saw that level.
