Man makes a mistake over council tax on a boat and apologises and is paying it back (and rightly so). (Boat council tax depends on your mooring and how often you are there, it’s not as straight forward) It would be about £1,000 a year Meanwhile, Farage’s Stamp duty would have been 10s of thousands. He continues to dodge questions about it and his £5,000,000 donations, has never apologised and will never pay anything back ever. Gutter press are raking through Zack’s bins before reporting on Farage.

I can’t believe anyone thinks Littler wins this… Mo is doing a HM in just over an hour. Littler, at least 2.5-3 hours. Mo just needs to throw darts anywhere at the board, get down to a single digit checkout and hopefully hit it fairly quick It wouldn’t even be a contest

One of the biggest debates on the internet right now is if Luke Littler & Mo Farah race in a half marathon, but have to complete a leg of 501 after every mile - who would win?! Here’s what the guys at @doubletopspod think Full episode out now!👇🏼 youtu.be/iEcp0WzaAI0?si… #Ad

Sheffield Wednesday have won for the first time since September, after breaking the football league record for most consecutive games without a victory. The Owls did it in front of a sold out crowd in the final day, recording the highest attendance of any club in the Championship this season, with 33,750 fans 👏🦉

@footballclips73 Once sat in the away end at Anfield with the Bournemouth fans. The atmosphere was like they were on a picnic. Everyone was very friendly and happy, it was rather boring. They will go down as the most irrelevant team to ever play in the Premier League. Literally no one cares.

Following confirmation of Leicester City’s relegation to League One, Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has issued the following statement: To our fans, Relegation to League One is now confirmed. As Chairman, that responsibility sits with me. There are no excuses. We have experienced the highest highs and now the lowest lows, and the pain is shared by all of us. I am truly sorry for the disappointment we have caused. I understand the strength of feeling among our supporters, and we do not take your support for granted, especially at moments like this. Our focus now is on what comes next. We will take the necessary decisions to move the Club forward, working together to rebuild, improve, and restore the standards expected of Leicester City. Our objective is clear – to respond strongly and compete to move this Club forward again. We will face this head-on. We will keep going. Together. Top

The man who wants to rescue Sheffield Wednesday, American businessman David Storch, says he has been “informed that a 15-point penalty is set to be imposed at the start of next season” in League One. The outgoing owner Dejphon Chansiri should hang his head in shame at the damage he has inflicted on Sheffield Wednesday. He can’t have a conscience. Otherwise he’d accept a compromise on bid price.  The EFL should have been tougher with Chansiri quicker. The FA should remember it is supposed to be custodians of the game and protect clubs. The importance of an Independent Football Regulator, much delayed by vested interests, is highlighted again by events at Wednesday.  At the moment, the people being punished at Wednesday are fans, players, staff and the man who wants to save them. Shameful situation engulfing a historic club which could have been avoided with stronger leadership by the authorities. And Chansiri locating some principles. #SWFC

Three weeks ago, Ayatollah Khomeini’s grandson, Ali Ahmad, says Muslims will sacrifice everything to genocide the Jews and annihilate the state of Israel in Islam’s name. He goes on to vow: “Americans will die before they see us humiliated.”

Really concerned to hear the Defence Secretary refuse to rule out UK's involvement in future strikes on Iran. Iraq lessons must be learned. Further escalation in the Middle East makes us all less safe. Starmer must rule out UK involvement immediately.

@AyoCaesar You helped create this conundrum. Well done on that, big round of applause... A race to the bottom of who's most oppressed. In the top trumps of inclusion I thought a disability topped the none disabled... Or do we have an update 2026 card pack?

What happened last night at the BAFTAs is a genuine example of competing rights – on the one hand, including someone with a disability who has every right to attend, and on the other, protecting people from being assailed by racial slurs. I honestly don't know how anyone's meant to square that.

You’ve said “goodbye” twice now but sometimes good to tweet for the record. Point 1: Mehdi you didn’t answer the specific question. The question was: - ‘How can Muslims help with the “responsibility to protect” #R2P (or right to protect) the people of Iran who are being exterminated in the name of Islam as we speak?’ If point 1 in your response was a reiteration of your previous “position” being against intervention. My question was meant as an opportunity for you to alter your position as a Muslim of influence. Anyone can see it is not a humanitarian position to take now. The “RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT” #R2P is the UN norm created in 2005 specifically to protect a population being exterminated by its government. In this case international intervention is not just a moral obligation, it is a legal imperative. Imagine you are being attacked by a nutter who wants to kill you. I am there to intervene and stop you being killed. Would you reject my help because you once thought I was “operating in bad faith” on @X? Point 2: There was no bigotry. @AlinejadMasih was pointing out to her own mayor in New York that it was hard to celebrate “hijab day” when there’s a regime in Iran that kills women simply for wearing it incorrectly. Also when we hear news of 50 unidentified female bodies found in Kahrizak, Tehran, which sources say were mostly found naked. This puts your comments of “raging Islamophobia” against her in context. Point 3: I never said Islamophobia was justified anywhere. Also criticism of the regime is NEVER Islamophobia. Point 4: What Spiked is or isn’t is irrelevant. It’s the content of the piece that’s important. Point 5: What ever the response of the Iranian people against their evil radicalised Jihadist government, you even mentioning an opinion that some Iranians - despite their lived experience - were “raging Islamophobes” - completely denigrates their suffering. The kind of Muslim who puts conditions on supporting human beings being slaughtered is a Muslim with baffling morals. Calling out the Islamic Republic is the moral duty of Muslims around the world. Without political caveats. Silence is complicity. #IranMassacre
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

1. I did a video condemning the repression of protests by the Iranian government but also opposing foreign intervention. I stand by that position. I really don't care whether you retweeted it or not, but that is me on the record. 2. Again, please stop putting words in my mouth. It is utterly dishonest of you. I didn't refer to all "Iranian activists" as "raging Islamophobes", I said a lot were (and check my replies, a lot of them proudly say they are), and I specifically was responding to clear bigotry from Alinejad, targeting a Muslim mayor who faces constant Islamophobic attacks for celebrating a world hijab day designed to protect Muslim women in hijabs who face constant physical attacks by Islamophobes, as you know. Not sure how attacking World Hijab Day or the hijab itself helps the Iranian protest movement. 3. This argument of yours that because the Iranian government does bad things in the name of Islam, therefore Islamophobia is justified is a strange one. Would you say the same about antisemitism? Would you condemn Jews here in the West for wearing yarmulkes or going to synagogue because settlers in yarmulkes on the West Bank who go to synagogue are attacking and killing Palestinians? That would be a thoroughly bigoted position to take against Jews worldwide, so not sure why you support taking a similar stance against Muslims worldwide. 4. I have followed you for a while so I am responding, but I can no longer take you seriously as a good-faith interlocutor if you stand by Spiked, a rightwing bigoted outlet which has specifically targeted and smeared me in recent years. 5. Lastly, my original point still stands. Whether you like it or not, a lot of Muslims see pro-Shah Iranian disaspora activists saying horrific things about Islam and Muslims as a whole and therefore hold back any support for the protesters. I was making a practical point that if you want to secure support for your movement in the wider Muslim world, which I assume you do, maybe don't engage in bigotry against the wider Muslim world.

Brighton's in-house data provider (StarLizard) is totally classified. My assumption is that it captures some unique variation/distillation of xT (expected threat) that signals a strong value judgment of the player's ability. Someone like Eiran Cashin would rank extremely high in that dataset because he has an exceptional passing range, despite what I would consider "deal-breaking" weaknesses. The fundamental difference at Brighton is that the data's opinion is weighted far more than human opinion.
Brighton Bubble@BrightonBubble

🚨 Critics believe Brighton have squandered around £300m over the past four transfer windows due to the club’s determination to be governed by data. It’s believed the club were warned off Eiran Cashin, but signed him regardless due to strong data reports. [@Matt_Law_DT] #bhafc

@daveatherton @AngelaRayner You don't get to where she's got by being thick. I'd take life smart over book smart now. Book smart or power from family riches has got us into this mess. Might be wise to try another direction Unless you're the Greens and you elect someone who isn't book smart or life smart.

It seems @AngelaRayner has her nose & cleavage in front to succeed Keir Starmer as PM. The lady who left school with more children than qualifications, I have to say I've a begrudging respect for her. She has pulled herself up by her bootstraps & made a success of her life. I have read bitchy remarks that she's not very bright & find her rhetoric tiresome. Her common sense might be an advantage. However, Ms Rayner is seen to be left of Stamer & could crash the economy, if it could further dive. The massive silver lining is there would be a General Election & the death of the Labour Party.

The 50 wealthiest families in the UK own more than 34 million people combined. That level of inequality is totally unsustainable. A wealth tax isn’t radical - it’s inevitable. And the Green Party will keep making the case.

Hundreds of thousands of working class adult learners go to University because they were let down by our State education system & the class system kept them in poor employment. They go to University as their last hope of getting an education & 'bettering themselves' they will pay an extra 9% tax on anything over minimum for the rest of their lives. There is nothing fair about that.

'It's not right that people who don't go to university are bearing all the cost for others to do so.' Rachel Reeves tells @NatashaC that the student loan system is 'fair' following backlash over ballooning debts.
