Don't you love "Jew-splaining" from someone who clearly is unfamiliar with Jewish liturgy? Zionism - restoring a Jewish homeland in Israel - is part of our daily prayers. As Passover approaches, note that 'Next Year in Jerusalem' has been a part of the seder for 1000 years.

The one ancestor he names specifically and connects to anti Zionism is his great grandfather, who was a Bundist. Otherwise, his point is that anti Zionism is a tradition among Jewish people as old as Zionism.

Note the unequivocal language here. Canada's government can condemn Iranian strikes on civilian infrastructure but could not bring itself to condemn the United States when it double-tapped an elementary school and murdered nearly 200 children in broad daylight.

The Canadian government could have called for an "immediate cessation of hostilities and de-escalation" as the UN Secretary-General did. Instead, it endorsed an illegal attack that threatens civilians and regional stability. Canadian complicity with U.S. and Israeli military aggression extends well beyond statements of support. The F-35 fighter jets that Israel reportedly used in its strike on Iran include critical components (such as the engine sensors) which are built here in Canada. The Canadian government has also pledged "defence material cooperation, and defence procurement opportunities" for Israel under the Canada-Israel Strategic Partnership. In addition, Canada supplies the U.S. with billions of dollars' worth of arms exports through the Defence Production Sharing Agreement. Time and again, the Canadian government has demonstrated that it is willing to abandon its supposed commitments to international law in favour of serving imperialism and dominant class interests.

I condemn today’s military escalation in the Middle East. The use of force by the United States & Israel against Iran, and the subsequent retaliation by Iran across the region, undermine international peace & security.   All Member States must respect their obligations under international law, including the Charter of the @UN. The Charter clearly prohibits “the threat of the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.”   I call for an immediate cessation of hostilities & de-escalation. Failing to do so risks a wider regional conflict with grave consequences for civilians & regional stability. I strongly encourage all parties to return immediately to the negotiating table.   I reiterate that there is no viable alternative to the peaceful settlement of international disputes, in full accordance with international law, including the UN Charter. The Charter provides the foundation for the maintenance of international peace and security.
